It has always been my belief that the LAPD honestly thought OJ did it, and they thought that once they used the evidence like the glove, etc to look deeper, the murder weapon, clothes, etc would all show up. Once it didnt, they were fukked and had to cover their tracks.
Exactly. The cops found the blood drops on the Bronco and got overzealous. Neither the prosecution nor the defense's scenarios were plausible. But Bailey and Cochran were better lawyers than Clark and Darden.
Bailey's cross early in the trial in particular is what had most of the jury penciling in "not guilty" early on
