Ye is my guy and my idol 
, but Ima roll with Illmatic. It's a perfect album. While MBDTF is close to perfect. Also, MBDTF is a classic, but it was released in a shyt era of rap where there aren't too many classics.
Illmatic was released in a time with other great classics and still stands out as the best.
Illmatic wins it for me.

production, lyrics, concepts, cohesiveness were all light years ahead of what nas was doing...illmatic was a broke nikka on dusty production bragging about having the same versatility as a fakkit
