I'm not worried. I only cared for Kerr because he seemed like the guy Phil wanted...

It may just be me but shouldn't the Knicks be looking into Scottie Pippen he knows the triangle he was basically the PG in that system he's won multiple championships he has assistant coach expirence he's also played in Rudy Toms system as well....He's also a top 50 talent and likely due to financial situation won't even attempt to ask for as much as Kerr did....

if I'm Phil I bring him in as either an assistant head coach or something.

2. Also I know he's an agent and making bank but wouldn't B.J. Armstrong also be a strong hire?

3. And are we 100% sure Phil wants to utilize the triangle? Do the Knicks have the players for this system outside of Shump?

Knicks brehs...I doubt y'all have any interest but what if the Pistons offered Smoove and Jennings for Amares contract and y'all had a resigned Melo with a strong coach in place.

C:Chandler
PF:Smoove
SF:Melo
SG:Shump or Hard
PG:Jennings

Smoove and Jennings are talented I just think they need a strong coach the Knicks would potentially be dangerous with this line up good or bad....but entertaining.

Do you think he could have been told Melo isnt going to be returning and it swayed him? :ehh:
i just think it was a much better gig off the bat, he got the extra 5th year, he's a west coast guy as it is & wants to be closer to his kids in HS/college, and the team is WAY better than the Knicks as currently constructed...easy decision IMO.

i wonder if Kerr saw/heard the Mark Jax firing writing on the all & that's why he was trying to "wait until the conference finals" to decide...because he wanted to see what would happen with the Warriors first before deciding. he probably had his eyes on this job from jump.

Mark Jackson isnt going to happen....Phil's first coach isnt going to be an F-U to management type of guy, especially with Dolan lurking.

I'd expect to see Phil gauge Derek Fisher's interest once the season ends for him. Kevin Ollie might gain some steam...David Fizdale as an under the radar guy.

I smell you on the bolded. He is supposed to be tight with the ownership and front office there... They probably put him up on game early on. And while I don't trust everything Frank Isola says, he does make a good point that Marv Albert was probably throwin shade at Dolan to Kerr while they were working together.

I mean, I doubt anybody in-the-know would tip their hand. I think he got offered an extra year, more money, a better/younger roster, and a chance to stay close to home.

Plus... not everyone wants to work in New York, around the New York media. Point Blank.

.... but if he was :lupe:

Hell no.

Why do you want the knicks to hire these random dudes that aren't even around the NBA anymore?

3. And are we 100% sure Phil wants to utilize the triangle? Do the Knicks have the players for this system outside of Shump?

I'm not even sure Shump fits the system.
