Hilarious. How they conveniently forget that part of the story with MCHG. Isn't it?MCHG went plat w/o those samsung "sales"

Sales never mattered.
Yeah. He didn't do a milli in a week tho.MCHG went plat w/o those samsung "sales"

Mainstream rap has mostly been about stealing, robbing, hustling, coming up, etc for many years now and as a result it's not 'cool' for most rap fans to pay money for albums anymore.
People like Wiz are going Gold off of white fans. Same thing w/ Em, Kanye, Jay going platinum off white fans. Their concert demographics tell the same story.
This is why producers, rappers would rather collab with acts like Katie Perry, Bieber, etc
Idk...don't care.528k first week. how many artists still doing a milly first week?

No its not white fans.
I made a thread about this not too long ago and never got a good answer.
There is a select demographic that are buying albums in 2013/2014 and is there anyway we can pinpoint who they are? Why they are buying albums?
Or is random?
Who's buying these albums though?well obviously it doesnt mean ALL the fans are white. Of course There's some black fans who still support, but largely white fans are the ones buying albums. The rappers who have a more wider appealing/crossover style sell more. There's a reason Rick Ross isn't going platinum, whereas if this was 2001 or so, he'd already be so.
Who's buying these albums though?
You have spottily, youtube, sound cloud.

It makes no sense. That's why I don't put any credence in the flop talk.
I see Wayne doing big numbers 1st week with The Carter 4...maybe not a milli but probably more than Drake around 750-800k
