The world is populated by people of low intelligence.
I used to buy cheap $50 watches. I had to replace them twice a year.
Eventually I bought me a $300 watch. Lasted me about 10 years. Still works actually but I need to fix the band.
So. Over the 10 years I saved about $700 on watches by buying a real watch.
Same goes with smell good. You buy a bottle of garbage water that doesn't last more than 2 hours and you'd have to reapply all day to actually smell like it. Or. One bottle of something decent for like $80 that lasts most of the day and the bottle itself lasts several months. Never did any cost analysis on the smell good, but the logic is similar.
The only reason to buy the more expensive thing is when the level of quality is great enough
TO MAKE IT THE BETTER VALUE
If you spend 10x as much on something that is literally of equal value to the cheaper option then you're just a trick. Getting robbed.
