Yeah this has been out for a minute. Gave it a few quick listens when I got it, forgot about it. Beats are dope... rhymes are meh - but not horrible. The way Madlib likes to spread out and test different waters, I take this project with a grain of salt.

Yeah Lib is known for dabbing in other genres and excelling in them.

Madlib's DJ Rels album is :wow: status
The DJ Rels album is his most underrated project IMO, I can zone out to that from start to finish

I guess I gotta check that project out today.

Is this an official Madlib project?

Yeah, for sure. It's only 6 joints. 3 with raps and 3 instrumentals. Madlib just dropped this the other day though so maybe they have something else on deck

yeah shyt is wild. had the EP for a while, and still dont know what to make of it.

Same here. I copped it on iTunes for the weekend. I like that Trouble Knows Me joint. I guess the dude said rapping was his first art form and first love with music, and he was way more into rapping than singing. He's definitely not an elite rapper whatsoever, but with Madlib I can pretty much vibe out to anyone. Madlib's one of those producers that can make about anyone sound interesting for at least a couple of songs.

This is definitely a 9th Wonder beat. I know I've heard it before. I wish I knew what it was.

It's not that he's a bad rapper, it's just that I don't think he's doing anything that someone else I know of isn't doing better. He kinds reminds of a Brother Ali or Slug type of cat. Like, if he was signed to a rap label it would be Rhymesayers or Stones Throw.

My thoughts exactly.

:ohhh: Just realized this the same dude that's on the intro to Oh No and ALC's "Welcome To Los Santos" Soundtrack album with Earl Sweatshirt
