I am. I think the 4K UHD BD player in the X1S isn't up to par. I read it somewhere, can't remember where, but they said it's sub-par. I think I'm gonna have to agree
for one... most of these movies ain't even shot with a 4k cameraSo I've been watching a ton of 4K UHD blu-rays with HDR (on my X1S). I'm not impressed. I have an LG 4K OLED and shyt barely looks better than 1080p upscale with HDR. I just watched Mad Max and the HDR was too much. It made the flames look fake as hell.
I watched Sicario and it was alright, but nothing that much more impressive than 1080p upscaled to 4K.
Is 4K UHD really that much of a difference when TVs can upscale incredibly to 4K?
shyt was mind blowingTo me it aint as big a jump as dvd to blu ray was. Im cool with 1080p
Zero problems over hereI think the problem might be the xbox
Its a notorious shytty 4k player
That thing was made for people with cheap shytty 4k tvs
Get a Panasonic UB900 or Oppo 203
Have you watched 4k blurays on another player yet?Zero problems over here
Marantz 6010
XBOS
LG 65 E OLED
Have you watched 4k blurays on another player yet?
I've seen several movies on the one s and just watched a movie on the panisonic the other day and was blown away by how much better the picture quality was
In fact it was the first time i was really blown away by 4k
Also the xbox cant bitstream atmos, dolbytrueHD,or DTS-HD master audio
Seriously if you're gonna spend the bread getting a flagship 4k tv you gotta spend the money and get a proper 4k player
The One s is a entry level 4k player
You sure you're getting real atmos or is it just a upmix because I googled and it still say the xbox doesn't bitstream hd audio but it's supposed to be coming this yearFalse. Added last year. I have Atmos.
Haven't gotten around to using another player, blew my budget on the TV, receiver and speakers. Could it be better? Possibly. X-Men Apocalypse is jaw dropping on my setup, so I'm good for now. Will probably go for a calibration before a dedicated 4K Blu-ray player. Getting a Scorpio so hopefully it will be even better. I have a feeling they won't skimp since that's something they have over PS4Pro.
Xbox Blu-ray Bitstream Pass-Through
This week Xbox also announced that Blu-ray Bitstream pass-through, which includes Dolby Atmos support on Xbox One and Xbox One S, would be rolling out to Xbox Preview members. This feature enables all Xbox consoles to pass Blu-ray audio data untouched to a user’s audio equipment, allowing your audio receiver or other audio device to produce a high quality, immersive sound experience.
A top fan-requested feature, it enables Xbox users who have invested in pro-audio set-ups to experience the best possible audio from their Blu-ray movies. To use this feature, you will need to have your console connected over HDMI to a compatible audio receiver which supports decoding of popular Blu-ray audio formats.

Besides the audio formats not being supported on the Larry box how does the video quality get affected by the player?I am. I think the 4K UHD BD player in the X1S isn't up to par. I read it somewhere, can't remember where, but they said it's sub-par. I think I'm gonna have to agree
I have no idea. I gotta get a "real" 4K player to check out the differences (if any). Maybe my TV just upscales really well and that's why I can't see much of a difference from 1080p upscaled v. 4K native....I dunnoBesides the audio formats not being supported on the Larry box how does the video quality get affected by the player?
