The regular season and postseason have become two different entities. We have seen so many teams in recent years have great regular seasons and fail to live up to that in the postseason. They were number 1 seed and out themselves last year. They cap it off with a chip, they'll get their due like you said.

And it used to be heavily associated with winning it all. And in the last 20 years we've seen numerous teams that didnt win it all despite winning all those games. You are only gonna be considered but so dominant without a ring.
