OKC Thunder Will Not Make The Playoffs

pretty much a wasted season for KD/Russ

I was saying this was a large possibility earlier in the season. They started out 5-13. 8 games below .500. In the west the difference between 1st place and 8th was only 13 games. Okc at full strength is about a .70 win team an when KD and Westbrook came back there was 64 games left. .70 of that is 45 wins + the 5 they had and that puts them at a final record of 49-33 which is the same record the 8th placed Mavs had last year...There's 36 games left on OKC's schedule, .70 of those would put them at 48-32...



The crazy thing about all this is I remember back then, when they first came back SAS had the nerve to say they'd catch up to Portland . Like nikka do you not understand math

This is exactly what I was telling a friend of mine whose a big Thunder fan and thought they would immediately be in the top 4 seeds once KD and Russ got back

Just because KD and Russ are back doesn't mean they are going to start winning 100% of their games. I believe at the end of the day they are still going to catch Phoenix because they themselves aren't on pace for a spectacular 50+ win season or anything, but it's going to be closer than a lot of people think especially if KD and Russ keep getting injured.

If Phoenix wins at their current percentage (57%) for the rest of the season they'll win 47 games. So yeah OKC will need to play at that 70% winning percentage here on out to get 48 wins and make the playoffs. So they'd need to go 25-11. Of course this is assuming Phoenix doesn't go any major win streak and stays at the pace they're going at. OKC can do it, but no more stupid losses. It would be a travesty to have another year where OKC can't do work in playoffs because of health issues.

Wouldn't worry about anything but getting in right now. Part of playoff success is momentum and chemistry going in and we dont know how they'll be playing in April.

It's going to be tough for them to make it but i'm not counting them out yet. All they have to do is hit about a 8 to 10 game winning streak and they are right there. But it's time for them to make it happen now.
