Another 5 game series due to Thunder not getting as many calls? The brand of basketball of going on a big run and struggling to score FGs and relying on FTs won't work vs. MIA. Though, the Thunder couldn't defend against the Heat in the last Finals matchup.

Maybe 6 games?

The official Finals thread is here:

Mods please move it next Thursday

Would be a dope storyline know that much, the new MVP vs the former MVP :wow:
The 1st and 2nd best player, both are MVP winners at the same position are playing for the championship. There hasn't been the makings of a rivalry like this ever in NBA history. Russell & Chamberlain was similar but they're battles mostly happened before the Finals.

The storylines on this one :banderas:

It depends on if Ibaka is 100%

If he's hobbled slight edge miami. If he's healthy OKC had the big advantage.

I can see the series playing out like this

Game 1 - Miami 97, OKC 105 - Despite 30-5-6 from Lebron James, Kevin Durant showed why he's the true MVP compiling a 40-10-11 triple double along with 3 blocks as OKC cruises to an easy game 1 victory.

Game 2 - Miami 89, OKC 110 - Led by 25 from Westbrook, OKC holds miami to 35% shooting and Serge Ibaka notches 6 blocks as Lebron James and D Wade combined to shoot 10-40

Game 3 - Miami 110, OKC 109 - A thrilling win for Miami as Ray Allen's 3 seals their victory as lebron notches a triple double and wade shoots 65% from the field.

Game 4 - Miami 95, OKC 98 - Kevin Durants stepback 3 gets OKC one step closer to their first championship. Despite 30 points from D Wade, and 25 from Bosh, Lebron shoots 3-16 as the combination of Kevin Durant and Jeremy Lamb stifle the former league MVP

Game 5 - Miami 101, OKC 102 - Wade's last second miss clinches OKC first championship as Kevin Durant notches 30-6-7 and Westbrook chips in with 19-11-8 as OKC wins their first ever title in Oklahoma City.

As a Heat fan, we match up far better with OKC than San Antonio.

We'd likely go small, with Bron at the 4 and Bosh at the 5. This would keep Ibaka on the perimeter and OKC doesn't have the bigs to punish us on the glass like Indiana has done at times in the past with their West/Hibbert lineup.

I think Norris Cole would see a big bump in minutes just like in this series, as he's far better suited to stay in front of Westbrook or Reggie Jackson than slow ass Rio.

I don't see how OKC can beat Miami with Brooks playing Perkins.

MIA will go small and thrive.

If the Spurs go small, they have a chance to win that series but it's all over for them now, they're a game late in terms of adjustments

MIA could maybe even sweep OKC because of Brooks horrible lineups against MIA
