comparing KD's basketball IQ to Russies is like trying to equate triple distilled factory produced top shelf vodka and backyard moonshine.


One is a lot more refined and smooth, goes down like water. Pure finesse

Well its two things.
They hide Curry on D whenever they can afford to so he's not usually fronting prolific scorers. That = high individual defensive rating.

The other is for all his efforts Klay isn't actually an elite defender. Not to say he can't become one, but its one of those things that became true because people wouldn't stop saying it was.

Iggy gets given similarly tough assignments on defense and holds opponents to low shooting because he's actually on that level.

As far as the first half of the game... GState has shown great resiliency these last couple games when it comes to getting punched in the mouth early vs these elite west teams looking to make a statement against them, only to fire back with a vengeance to make it a ball game

as far as the 2nd half... after the durant injury it was whatever for me. but overall the game has me lookin at both squads like

okc's nba2k style of play with their aggressive isolations and fukkery 3s/drives is always fascinating to watch given how effective it's been for years now... but i swear that organized chaos approach is always going to increase the chances of injury. and even before the durant injury, some of the rough landings i saw westbrook take in that 1st half when he was going 100 miles an hour..


with gstate its hard to say anything defnitive until they get everybody back.. if or whenever that ever happens.
