The problem is Melo gone opt in and he gone get paid regardless.
If PG was staying they should bench him but once PG leave they might as well start him.:ld:

I just got in this thread so I dont know if its been mentioned in here or not but Melo STILL has his no trade clause. he only waives it from team to team.

also, these guys like Melo are just plain dumb or doesnt use publicist or advisor. he shouldve never came out and said what he said in an interview. now, many teams wont touch him because he feel he is cancerous. he shouldve just told the org in private that he wasnt willing to come off the bench. he shouldve played the situation like he was happy in OKC and loved it there but maybe he didnt fit and wanted a role elsewhere. he shot himself in the foot with that. yeah he will opt in, but I think he just committed career suicide, because he isnt worth the $28 mil

If OKC is willing to eat most of that contract a trade could be made. They'd have to eat about 2/3 of that 28 million though.

I dont think they are in the position to eat anything and move forward in a climb in the West. looks like it would have to be bad contract for bad contract. like the Turners and Batums out there. plus sweeten the deal with some picks. Portland wouldve loved to have had him last year but after this year, pretty sure they have changed that tune. Hornets cant make playoffs, they have nothing to lose really....but he really needs a buyout. eating that $28 mil is brutal. he's a cap killer.

I'm trying to figure out why all the blame is falling on Carmelo, when OKC has had the same lingering problem for the past decade now.

theres no logical reason for melo to come off the bench as of right now. they don't even have a player that's anywhere near qualified to start over him.

I wouldn't come off the bench neither. f*ck that.
Its a ego thing
Some of these guys have never come off the bench in 30 years

actually, he isnt a big part of the blame to me. Russ and Donovan deserve the most blame.

as far as him coming off the bench...if he cant show better than what he has then its warranted. he brings nothing to the starting lineup but volume shooting. they have 2 others in the lineup that do that at a better clip.

the thing about the ego trip is, J.R. Smith went through the same thing this year. and they just arent thinking right. like J.R. couldnt get enough shots in the starting lineup and he is a rhythm guy like Melo.

it behooves guys like Melo to come off the bench because he has more freedom to just fire away. he doesnt have to worry too much about Russ and PG13. also he gets to play against other bench guys who wont exploit him as bad on defense.

he hurts your team by being a volume shooter with no defense, rebounding, or passing.

We'll take him. Just take back Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard and it's a deal!

NBA Trade Checker - Saved Trade - RealGM

while that is a good deal and they could be pretty good during the regular season, they'd be home quicker than they were this year when the playoffs come. :mjlol:

Melo in the starting lineup with two undersized guards with weak defense? :gucci:

Aminu is better than Melo right now.
