Knicks finessed the hell out of OKC.:mjlol:
Thank God Phil pissed this nikka off enough to get him to waive the no-trade clause.

If things go sour, just do what the knicks are doing with Noah.

Unlike Noah, melo is going to feel like a year of his career is being wasted and potentially joining a contender. That could be enough to make melo consider a lower amount when talking buy out

I will agree that hes a bad fit.

at least until PG leaves.

if George actually stays, they should try to trade melo to Washington or Cleveland.

Jerami Grant should've started for Melo. Melo's awful both offensively and defensively. Omitting the fact he makes $30M, he's an awful fit on a team where he is not the focal point of the offense.

I wouldn't come off the bench for grant, if I was melo.

and melo has already proven that he doesn't have to be the focal point, YEARS AGO if yall remember those nuggets teams circa '08.

and he signed on to NOT be the focal point in OKC. its not his fault that he cant catch a rhythm because his point guard is one of the worst distributors in the league. and this has been the thunder's problem for a decade now. why the blame suddenly falls on the shoulders of melo, who just got there, is beyond me.

Its a ego thing
Some of these guys have never come off the bench in 30 years

he has no business coming off the bench for this team.

unless theres a clearly better player that youre replacing him with, or theres a possible ring coming out of this, I wouldn't come off the bench neither.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Does he still have a no trade? Or is it gone because he already waived it?

There will be some team dumb enough to trade for him but if he still has his no trade then Miami and Portland might make some sense

But they won’t get anything decent for him

I'm assuming you're talking about the team that went to the WCF with Iverson and Billups, even then Melo took 300 more shots than the next closest player(Billups). He was definitely option A in Denver then.

He was traded to OKC, he didn't sign. Russ has a lot of faults, but Melo's game just does not translate into winning basketball anymore. He only puts the ball in the basket(and he even doesn't do that well anymore), doesn't pass, doesn't rebound well and is a complete liability on defense. The only reason a team would pick him up is because his contract expires next year.

I was moreso talking about the '08 nuggets with Iverson, when there would be like 8 or 10 different players stuffing the stat sheets nightly.
