I don't like the way your GM has constructed your team and he doesn't have that good of an eye for talent.
For example, Terrence Ferguson is absolute trash yet the Thunder have a hard on for him and for some reason think he will be special. I knew he was trash since last year yet your front office can't see that. Then you have Jerami Grant who can't shoot or rebound that great but he's athletic and can drive to the basket.
PG is also too streaky of a player to be a legit 2nd option. He really is a 3rd option in disguise.
It's very difficult to win without shooting in today's NBA. Your team is too easy to guard because all you have to do is pack the paint yet the Thunder's front office thought would be a great idea to surround WB with a bunch of athletic slashers who can't shoot. Not only do they do this, they seemed to be obsessed with athletic slasher types who can't shoot. Pure stupidity.
It's early so they still have plenty of time to turn it around though.
The team is built like a contending team in the early/mid 2000’s.
Ferguson is just another guy, I won’t call him trash yet but he aids none of the team’s problems. Flipping Melo for Schroeder was nice but he can’t shoot worth a shyt either. The most reliable shooters outside of PG are Abrines and Patterson and they’re role players that can’t really create their own shot and don’t shoot near the same percentage from deep as the elite shooters in the game.
To be a team that is an actual contender for a title in today’s NBA your 2nd option really needs to be a 1st option (KD, Curry) (Harden, CP3) (Kyrie, Tatum?). You’re absolutely right, Paul George is closer to a great 3rd option (Klay) if you’re serious about winning. He’s streaky, turns the ball over a lot with his lackadaisical handles, and does a lot of disappearing acts.
This team as currently constructed is stuck in 1st round playoffs purgatory.
