I fukkin lost my shyt when I first heard this joint. Don't even get me started on the video. That was the New York I fell in love with

Breh.... :wow:

I legit thought this was the hardest shyt I'd heard in my life.

I want to say I had it on a mixtape or taped it off the radio the night before.

But I vividly remember listening to this on repeat on the bus ride to school in 11th grade on my walkman, trying my best to contain myself.

So is it true this was a diss song to the dude that shot him? If so :russ::russ::russ:...classic song like a muthafukka.

correct, dude that shot him in 94 was named Rab, from a crew who claimed to be the original brooklyn zoo from coney island

2nd dude who spits on this cut

he died 2 years ago in jail of a K2 overdose

Man, that's exactly where it takes me back to, breh. High school. I had never heard anything like that track. Unorthodox, but unique and dope, from the beat, to ODB's energy & delivery

Soon as the video started and the camera flashed on breh, I said "that nikka look like he shot mad nikkas"

Sure enough, he was the second nikka to spit :dead:

'95 was such a dope year.

Back then for me it was nothing but Illmatic (still), Southernplayalistic (still), Ready to Die (still), Junior Mafia's album, Do You Want More!??!!?, Tical, Doe or Die, The Purple Tape, The Infamous, Dah Shinin, Return of the 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, and Dogg Food.

I liked the China Town version of the video more:

I was just speaking on early 95 Tunnel and I scroll to see you of all people posting about this song. This was an early 95 Tunnel banger but there's no way u would know this. Absolutly no way way. .You were a choir boy in elementary school with no idea of what was going in the nyc club scene when this song was hot.

I remember browsing ughh.com old school section back in fall 2000 in my freshman year of high school. I heard of Brooklyn zoo and knew odb got a Grammy nod off of it or his album so wondered wtf was it. Would skip over it trying to hear the songs that I would hear in passing as a kid on the radio. Heard shimmy shimmy ya on hot 97 in like 95 or 96. Flex would play it all the time during his show along with survival of the fittest. So I decided to click on it one day and then "what what what"... :wow:

This shyt really woke ny niccas up during the east cost/west coast beef.
Shyt got a lil tense in the club when this came on.
I can’t think of anything today that would match that energy.
