Its crazy looking at it but its hard for a ref to stop a fight especially when your stoppage takes a guys title away, the heavyweight title at that!. Then you look at the mind set of the day and times and factor in the lack of understanding of brain damage and concussions and you get what happened in the Frazier vs Foreman fight.

yardies want to see a man dead before the fight gets stopped..

Probably the best boxing match i ever seen. A tactical tit-for-tat, back-n-forth stalemate that eventually devolved into an all-out war at the end.
