Loved the video then and love it now. Like breh up there said the 2000's videos were real dope. Not to derail the thread but I always thought busta, Luda, and red man had the dopest videos.

Biggest fall off from album to another in hip hop history.

Capital punishment is a certified classic.
Yeaahh baby is hot garbage.

No. Not even close. That's dedicated to Snoop.

Yeaah Baby had some joints. And Capital Punishment, while dope, is not as :damn: incredible as Doggystyle. Doggfather, in comparison, had nothing. NOTHING.

If I really want to anger pretend Nas fans, I'd argue that the falloff from Illmatic to It Was Written is just as great as Yeahh Baby. And you can wrap that "he got more lyrical/conceptual" crap in as many make-believe bowties as you like. No doubt about it: IWW was a drastic fall off from Illmatic.

If I really really wanted to anger pretend Raekwon fans, I'd argue that the fall-off from Cuban Linx to Immobilarity was incredible. You go from GOAT contender album to an album with zero hot joints.

Smif N Wessun went from Da Shinin to whatever their follow-up album was.

GZA went from GOAT contender Liquid Swords to whatever the fukk his follow-up album was.

The point is, these shyt second albums happen all the time.

Hated the hook because it was a cookie cut and paste job to try to catch the light the I am not a playa remix was.
All because I am not a player the original was unheralded.
Which was a slow burn single schedule record and never actually caught on.
Sohh, for the remix to actually catch on and be with Joe.
Who was not viewed as culture friendly.
Plus given the circumstance and shattering of the glass ceiling.
After the death of biggie and Pac and now the better pun was able to rock. Plus occupy the lane big had with an added Latin large draw. Was kind of one of the very few bboy has a favorite rapper. that goes pop dreams come true that was done right.
In the pocket for how the mca model was applied to an artist far removed from ever being like a mca/badboy direction jiggy based artist.
Well after jiggy pretty much was dead.

The way pun jumped on the record in the first verse was welcomed.
All because it had the Packin the mac in the ac, diddly in little Italy off tha books type word play but on a commercial record with such ease.
That when pun spits with the poor mixing, you bought into it.
Simply, because pun was spitting rhymes that made you enjoy him artistically as an emcee and why you missed him.
as much as big l, biggie and Pac fans missed their favs.
i pun murdered it until the second verse.
Then the hodgepodge patchwork of yeah baby told the whole story of the project on the second verse.
Plus, the fact his health hampered all this from being finished and you got to hear pun be unfocused.
which you never heard before and did not need to hear.
Coupling with the fact, it was all so poorly mixed.
That it made it hard to digest in the glossy over mixed era and then the interludes over the beat talking ruined it.
Making it way to obvious of a pisspoor post humous release.
Which ruined the single and solidified the album as a waste of time.
Plus, the fact pun was gone from his own health issues.
End result,....people hated it.

The ashanti cartoon CGI video was a bit better but it worked better because Ashanti had a much better grasp of writing.
so called freestyle Lisa Lisa meets hiphop soul mca model style records.
way more than regular nineties croon based rnb like donell Jones.
Including the fact the fat Joe and ts albums were horrible leading up to this release.
also ruined the release from being positively received as well.
As the impact from the playa joe remix created a weird wanna be pop mix for Ts and fat Joe.
Where they leaned to much on low quality work bar to bar song to song.
then hoped a pop single would elevate the sales.

As far as yeah baby, is concerned.
Omit all of it outside of leatherface.
Which you can only do if you can stomach the mixing.
Plus the fact it is unfinished is the only thing worth listening to off the yeah baby release or post humous pun recording era.

Yeah, mayne.

I mean...it was cool to see all the cameos and people showin' love.
And it was cool to see the few scenes of people havin' fun with the song like the dice game and J-Lo...
but I was fucced up because Pun was on the short list of my favorite rappers, and I felt some
way when they got to the line "and I prolly ain't even the best lyricist alive".

Classic video, remember this getting crazy burn on tv like it was just yesterday :mjcry:

I'm 26, am I an old head?

the term oldhead has become misused as it traveled.

really its philly chit. its just supposed to be a term used to reference someone older than you and/or someone you hold in high-regard.

I was being referred to as an oldhead before I even went thru puberty.

That's the sad truth, and all them artists you named had serious fall-offs :mjcry:

Who was that said that you have all your life to make your first album, but only limited time to do your second or something like that? Wasn't it Nas?:jbhmm:
