Was in my late teens, at first I tried to convince myself the album was great. Then the illusion broke and I was inconsolably disappointed. In later years, the album has a couple tracks that offer it some redeeming value.
Drogas Wave is a rap achievement but Tetsuo & Youth is a classic in it's own right.
He had no business releasing that mess after The Cool
He made up for it with Drogas Wave tho, all is forgiven

All I remember from that era is Lyor Cohen standing outside saying to people protesting it being held back “dont you want it good?”

I used to stan him heavy so I knew it was kind of a throwaway album at the time. I was prepared for the disappointment.
All Black Everything and Till I get there are my favorite tracks off it. His first verse on Break the Chain was underrated IMO.
Looking back, the album was pretty depressing. You can tell dude was in a dark place mentally
