Yes and no, he has some skill as well as his physical gifts but he was so far ahead of most of his competition. Maybe poor was an overstatement, but the NFL especially in the early to mid-80s was a whole different beast from the college to pro game, I suppose the sample size wasn't really large enough in the grand scheme of things but based on having watched years of NFL football by the mid 80's even if completely healthy I don't know if he had the makeup to make a real career for himself be it lack of drive or just resting on his laurels, I just don't think he had the makeup to succeed at the top level.

Dude seemed to know when to use his power and when to be elusive. That equals football iq. Nothing you stated speaks on his iq as a player. Even on that punt return against Colorado, the way he set up one defender by sidestepping him was steeped in high football iq as a runner. You have no idea what you're talking about using "football iq." He had a high football iq as a runner
