I'm from LA and I was doing a lot of clubbing. I went to a club in Hollywood that was packed like sardines . . . Hit Em Up came on and the crowd damn near started to riot . . . .the air conditioning was terrible so I stopped dancing and was leaning against the wall wiping my face with a napkin . . . the crowd starts yelling/chanting and I dont know what their saying . . .the strobe light starts flashing . . . the DJ stops the beat and all I heard was "Bad Boy Killah!" . . . ."Bad Boy Killah!" . . . "Bad Boy Killah!"

Not a few heads, EVERY MUHFUKKA in the club

Yeah that track was weak but every other track in the beef is classic - Stillmatic Freestyle, Takeover, Ether, Last real nikka Alive and Blueprint 2.

Yea, I thought BP2 was a classic track and I'm a Nas stan :ld:
Jay-z whole strategy for the beef was ''i fukked your wife,'' that was his ace, instead of going in on Nas like he tried on BP2 he tapped him & thought he would solidify the W because of ultimate disrespect, so even though it's classic it was still ruined. I respect Checkmate by Jadakiss more than ''shots fired'' if you dig me? Smart sh!t>>>__. As a song Hit em up is great, classic beat classic chorus classic intro but if you look at the bars, as a diss it's garbage & most of rap battles have followed it's blueprint which is why i say it ruined battle rap.

:comeon: Suge already shytted on Biggie & Puff at the Source Awards speech prior to Hit em up coming out, :childplease: at you thinking Pac would be scared to perform Hit Em Up at a award show with Biggie present :rudy:

Did you forget about this video where Pac was talking reckless about NYC rappers IN New York?

Heaven on Earth
I was in Atlanta at the time and they used to play it on the radio like 10 times a day... It was in heavy rotation that whole summer...

Rolling Stone once described the last 60 seconds as the most intense and rage fueled moment in music since the 70's British punk rock era....

Houston
I remember the day I heard this diss and nikkas were going nuts. I use to work at the movies back then (AMC Meyerpark 16 for the old school Houston heads) and a friend of mine named Eugene was a music fiend. We use to play basketball at his house over the weekend and then listen to music and hop on his playstation. Anyway one of the cats we use to play ball with rolled up late just shaking his head and we was all asked him where he was and why he was late. The nikka looked distraught. He just asked us man y'all ain't heard that Pac diss to Big? We all like wtf. He ran in his car and got the tape and I swear we all just stood in silence as that shyt played. No one and I mean no one had ever gone that hard on somebody on wax before so that shyt hit a nikka upside the head like a hammer. I swear everybody stopped doing what they were doing and just stood there with the Lou Gosset stare

We listened to it over and over ag win for about an hour straight and was crackin jokes all night. He straight ate Biggie alive. Everybody was scrambling to find a blank cassette to to dub their version. We mobbed straight to the Sam Goody and bought about 10 blank grey tapes (screw tapes heads know what I'm talking about) we stayed up all night making copies and the next week everyone at work knew it from front to back. The next week DJ Screw got a hold of it and oh boy the city went nuts. He mixed and chopped the fukk out of that song on Drankin On A Gallon.
