I remember hearing their music as a kid before their deaths and i remember watching their deaths being covered on the news but it had no effect on me :manny: (i was six)

Now i'm a big fan of both.

Were they seen as some special one of a kind artists cut from the rest of the rappers at the time? Or was their effect on the industry just like any other top mainstream act in today's rap generation like kanye, ross, drake, wayne, t.i. Jeezy, kendrick, or j.cole, etc?

them ninjaz was local. really. a lot of west coast like snoop, ice cube, coolio was bigger than them.
In the East Coast Biggie was one of the most popular at the time (along with Nas, Wu tang clan, etc). Pac was one of the most popular in the West Coast (way more than coolio breh :usure:)

I got to disagree my dude. I'm from the UK and let me tell you Pac & Big were HUGE in the UK, everyone f*cked with if not both, one of them. Before their deaths there was huge debate over who was the best. Dudes were legitimately not f*ckin with other artists because of certain beefs.

I can remember exactly where i was and what i was doing when i heard Pac died. I'd just finished basketball practice and we were about to go to the outdoor courts, one of our peoples ran across the road "Yo Pac is dead"

The silence was deafening all the way to the outdoor courts. N*ggaz was shook.
