Trap Music subject matter originated in Decatur with Ghetto Mafia

And it wasnt limited to dope...it meant selling ANYTHING black market..from weed to stolen rims

Yet the sound came courtesy of Bay Area producer Fatboi who migrated to Georgia in the late 90s and linked up with Shawty Redd in ATL and worked with Jeezy and Gucci Mane whom he met via Camoflauge
Whats camouflage? a label?

Also appreciate the info brother.

you gotta be from atl to talk about the trap that's their slang and term
Not anymore, I remember when that harlem shake dance craze came out. People called that kind of electronic music trap as well.

I could of sworn the question is who invented the MUSIC... not who came with the term or rapped about the trap. But the music. Triple Six Mafia since 1991 were the originators of that shyt... Everything even by those in ATL and so forth were influenced by what DJ Paul and Juicy J was brewing from the very beginning. That southern hood shyt.... the music, the vibe, even the flows and so on came from those guys in Memphis.

Camoflauge was Fatboy first signaficant artist he used his trap sound with when he arrived in Georgia

Flauge collaborated with an artist named Gangsta Bolo a Crip who was mutual friends with Jeezy and appeared with Gucci Mane in his first video as the SYS BOYZ

Gucci touches on this subject in his book

:gucci:

Outkast was rapping about selling dope all over their debut, breh. "Player's Ball" is talking about slanging dope on Christmas Day, for fukks sake. :dead:

If you want to argue they didn't personally start trap music, ok cool....but they were d-boy/gangster rappers on their debut.

Fred.

They were on that ecclectic shyt, definitley not who the streets and dopeboys were listening too. They didn't fit the mold for the same reason 3-6 didn't as weirdo devil worshippers. Gangsta Rap?I would use that term loosely when talking Outkast, they simply weren't hard enough.

The 718
sonically Three 6 Mafia.

TI may have called it "Trap Music" first but the themes were prevalent in rap music way before him and musically his stuff doesn't sound like the architect to modern trap to me :yeshrug:
Yeah TI's first album sounded more like traditional Rap-A-Lot shyt than "trap"
