So a cruiserweight is defined on WWE.com as 205 and below, professional wrestling wise/historically it is generally 220-225 but using todays metrics, flair is correct

Shawn Michaels is billed as 225
Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero both billed as 220

generally these guys are not considered cruiserweights, same goes for Jericho in his prime.....you are being dishonest if you think kayfabe wise these guys were portrayed as anything but "smaller heavyweights"

the closest would be Daniel Bryan who is billed as 210 and even that is above 205

so once again, everybody on this site jumped the gun... Flair is actually correct and contextually, he is probably referring to guys below 200lbs

there is nobody who has main evented a wrestlemania below 205 (the current mark for cruiserweights)- those other guys were generally regarded as junior heavyweights or smaller heavyweights in WWE
Rey Mysterio was billed at 195 at his heaviest and even that was a stretch.

but lets be real when someone hears cruiserweight they are gonna go by WCW definition, most people don't even know WWE changed the weight limit and while I am excited for the E's version I am not assuming Flair is going by the metrics of a division that's a month old lol

There is no way Michaels ever was 225. :mjlol:

With the announcement of the return of the Cruiserweight Division on WWE Raw, and the likely return of the Cruiserweight Championship, if WWE does in fact follow the 225lb weight limit that has applied to the title in the past, there are currently 10 Raw Superstars and 2 undrafted superstars who qualify for that weight limit.

The following weights are based on WWE.com’s roster stats:

Seth Rollins 217lbs
Finn Balor 190lbs
Kofi Kingston 212lbs
Xavier Woods 205lbs
Sami Zayn 205lbs
Enzo Amore 200lbs
Neville 194lbs
R-Truth 220lbs
Sin Cara 198lbs
Primo 210lbs

Undrafted Superstars:

Heath Slater 216lbs
Tyson Kidd 204lbs

There are also 6 Raw superstars who are between 225 and 235 who could potentially compete for the title of they cut weight:

Chris Jericho 227lbs
Cesaro 232lbs
Goldust 232lbs
Bo Dallas 234lbs
Epico 230lbs
Curtis Axel 228lbs

Should WWE decide to enforce the 205lb weight limit currently being used for the Cruiserweight Classic, then Finn Balor, Xavier Woods, Sami Zayn, Enzo Amore, Neville and Sin Cara would qualify for the division.

I don't even know why I'm entertaining Flair's words, as he was out of his prime before The LoX dropped their debut

When he says cruiserweight, does he mean a wrestler in that particular weight classification or does he mean a wrestler with the high-flying cruiserweight "style" like Rey Mysterio, Neville, Kalisto, etc?

The fact Ric had to go on his latest podcast and basically apologize/explain himself for saying it says a lot about the state of wrestling fans :snoop:

I disagreed full heartedly with Flair but he's got every right to state his opinion with no apologies for it.

Not when flair was on the very same show as the ones headlined by cruisers. Not gonna let him be that senile

Actually it means he should of had a backbone...Daniel Bryan got WAY TOO OVER for him to have said that without criticism. And even then..he shouldnt have backed down if he believed it.
