Did he even know they weren't armed? No. At 65, two teens can easily overpower him even without a weapon. They should've been smarter than that.home invasion is a risk, gotta be prepared to take it. Law about self defense still doesn't allow for execution style finishing.
People talk all the time about cops being required to render aid after shooting someone and getting in trouble when they just do nothing and allow them to die. Now imagine if instead of rendering aid, you just finish them off. He was never going to get off. he admitted to murdering them basically.
Thin line between self defense and murder and context matters. This was the correct decision, but the problem is they wouldn't make this decision had the intruders been black

That's a factual question for the jury, and we have no idea that "execution" style finishing is what motivated them to vote the way they did.
(and there are all sorts of reasons why the Jury would decide that the "evidence" that he did X,Y, and Z were more complicated etc. Plenty of "dead to rights" murderers have gotten off, Robert Durst in Galveston comes to mind)

If it was Tyrone and Keisha, Miguel and Maria, I have a feeling that Jury would have found self defense - because white lives matter, black ones don't.
