You gotta define or limit ''old'' and ''new'', patna...

Old Nastradamoues Nas? hell naaa... Illmatic and It Was Written Old Nas... Hell yeah...

I get why a lot of nikkaz find Nas borin'... I love Nas music but sometimes I'm not in the mood to listen to his shyt... When I'm chillin' at the crib, or in my car n Im just relaxin' I'll throw some Nas on, but not when Im hyped or when Im partyin'...

he can come thru whenever he feels like it - he knows it. But sometimes he stays into that introspective shyt for too long and ignont nikkaz like myself not always in the mood for that...

LOL!! Nah, not Nastradamus Nas.

I get what you mean about stayin' in that introspective shyt too long. He always did that, but he's kinda lost that balance, in my opinion.

You can tell Nas an introspective and intellectual nikka... He been too removed from the streets for too long so at least he keepin' it real with his shyt, which I respect even if it isn't as appealin' to me anymore...

Totally the opposite of ya man HOV :scusthov: who still rappin' about coppin' kilos from Chief Keef when he worth half a billion :comeon:

Yeah, Nas was always that though.

Thing is, he had that balance back then. He could give you a "We Will Survive", "Money is my bytch", "Nas is Like", "Small World", "I Want to talk to You" and an "Undying Love" and still be mad effective. I think that's what the OG fans miss from him. I agree with people that are sayin' he just has one lane now. Where before, he could drop knowledge and still give you an "It's Mine", "Drunk by Myself' and "Fast Life".

I think we can all understand that lettin' that level of greatness go, would be tough to do. This cat was unstoppable at one point.

"Untitled" is so far beyond any other nikka's albums
you just have to take off:

"Make the World Go Round"
"Hero"
"Sly Fox"

and the album is perfect

aint no other rap nikka out that got songs like:
"louis farrakhan"
"******"
"You cant stop us now"

:ohlawd:

don't get me started bout this from LIG

Lost tapes is better than I am, gods son, and stillmatic.

As a whole, absolutely.

But I never really counted that as an "album", because those were mostly joints that I had on the original I Am bootleg, like five years earlier. I see Lost Tapes as more of a compilation, that's what Nas says it is. LOL!

Sly Fox is ight. Queens get the Money though?? :ohlawd:

I never thought about Nas being a certain type of way compared to his older stuff. I just started bumping Nas heavy a little while before LIG came out. I recently had the luxury to sit down and listen to Illmatic full LAST YEAR! My god that album was perfect. The only thing I see different from Old nas is the beats. The fukking flow, beat and delivery for NY State of Mind is ummatched. That track is literally perfect to me. Next up would be Memory lane and the rest of the album.

LIG though was a fukking good album. I still bump it till this day. Loco-Motive sounds like something from his old stuff though.

nikkas been askin for old Nas since IWW dropped...literally...since is 2nd album...nikkas been complaining...but he's doin him..and it's helped him in the long run by NOT caring what everybody else thinks..the nikka literally does wtf he wants..and that's why his career is still where it is..

I say new Nas because it matches where he is in his life right now. And because he creates his albums at different points in his life (like a snap shot of where he's been). It's kind of hard to choose an era of his career that you liked or felt the most.
