Yea but u gotta catch it as well, plenty of dbs with bad hands
eh...I mean don't get me wrong I actually like this pickup, Im just trying to explain why raw int numbers doesn't mean you have to be drafted.

My thoughts on the draft picks

Round 1 - Mike McGlinchey OT

I know that that this tackle class is underwhelming. But McGlinchey is far and away the best of them. As much I like Trent Brown, he wasn't in the teams long term plans. He's a better run blocker than pass blocker but he can start immediately at Right Tackle and in terms of skillset he is somewhat similar to Joe Staley and could end up being the left tackle of the the future but he has the highest floor of all the tackles in this draft even his ceiling isn't super high. This wasn't the sexiest pick but it's safe.

Grade: B-

Round 2 - Dante Pettis WR

I like Pettis as a player. But this pick should have been used on Josh Jackson who the Packers got right after us. Pettis is a solid fundamental WR and he comes from a pedigree of great athletes but this was a luxury pick, imo and the only reason I could think of us drafting him is to replace Garcon in 2 years or so. Time will tell.

Grade: C+

Round 3 - Fred Warner MLB

I think this is a sleeper pick. He has a body that is better made for a Will linebacker. He has long arms and long legs. But he was productive against the run and more importantly. I think he is better in coverage than Malcolm Smith. I think he needs to bulk up a bit at the next level but this was a smart value pick.

Grade: B+

Round 3 - Tavarius Moore S

Sleeper pick #2. Dude is an amazing athlete. He ran a 4.32 and has great lateral and recovery speed. He is really a true free safety. He is better at coverage than tackling and he looks skinny. I think an NFL strength and conditioning program will help him put on some weight and he needs to to ask for seconds at the dinner table. But again this was a clever pick.

Grade: B

Round 4 - Kentavious Steet DE

This pick is a Baalke pick. We picked a guy with a torn ACL who won't see the field until 2019 at best. I would take a bum that is available than a stud with 1 ACL. This is pick we should have taken Equanimeous St Brown with or Josh Sweat. My money is that he never sees the field.

Grade: F

Round 5 - DJ Reed

Again In think this is a luxury pick. DJ Reed is speedy corner. I think he can compete as a nickelback. But we are flush with young corners and safeties but my thought process is that the team is going to ultimately move on from Jimmy Ward and maybe even K'waun Williams despite extending him by the following year.

Grade: C+

Round 6 - Marcell Harris S

All ACL superstar. Granted he tore his ACL last year. But in reality. In think his way onto the roster is through special teams. But either way. This is one safety too many and this guy could have been signed off the scrap heap. We should have taken an offensive lineman like say Jamil Denby picked by the Rams.

Grade: D

Round 7 - Julian Taylor DT

This is actually an interesting pick. Julian can either be a backup end or a backup 3 technique on the weakside. He is clearly a tweener at 6'5 285 lbs. I expect him to be stashed on the practice squad. Not amazed by him but not a terrible pick either. Another guy who might be drafted higher had he not torn his ACL in college.

Grade: C

Round 7 - Richie James WR

This guy is 5'8 and 175 lbs. He does't have NFL size. BUT looking at some tape of him I can tell he works his ass off. He runs a surprisingly complete route tree and despite coming from a smaller school he has played good competition. He could be a special teams player

Grade: B

Overall John Lynch has made some funky picks this draft and it surprises me because the last draft was quite pragmatic. Every player in last years draft made sense even if some players were reaches (CJ Beathard) but the rationale was there. The fact of the matter landing Jimmy G actually sped up the rebuild by 2 years. He releases the ball quickly and has the touch to throw in tight window on the inside of the receivers catch radius. So we need to protect him. We didn't draft a single guard which must mean he's ok with the group we have particularly Joshua Garnett after dropping 20 lbs. In also think we drafted too many defensive backs. We needed quality not quantity. Overall the team made too many cute picks and thats ok when you are a playoff team but this draft was deep in positions that we needed and again Lynch and Shanny prioritized system fits over areas need. I want to be wrong but this feels like the 2012.draft.

Final Grade: C

Yall niccas really in here still talking about out 2017 draft?:heh:

Anyway @feelosofer

Thats a good assessment on the grade... thats about how I feel.

Hopefully a lot of these guys will turn out well and work great in our system

But I dont feel that we got one rookie that gonna come in and be dramatically or slightly better than anyone at a position currently held by our current roster.

Everyone feels like "depth guys" and I really feel like we can potentially not be in this position to draft this high next year..... we shouldve got DOGS this year and did the depth shyt next year....

But we'll see

Since I cant find a proper "sky is falling" reference meme/gif:troll:

I'll just use a struggle one:steviej:
