I know jerry Krause got all the heat, but he was doing reinsdorf dirty work. People forget that before Jordan 30 mill one year contract the off season after the 4th ring. MJ made a threat that he would retire if Reinsdorf didn't pay him.
Later we find out that he flirted going to the Knicks. Aftter the 5th ring Phil and rodman signed 1 year deals. Reinsdorf was set because the sky boxes were sold out for 10 years or some shyt like that and you had sesson ticket waiting lists that were years long. Reinsdorf was not crazy about paying MJ 30 mill then 33 mill for the 1997-1998 season.
Reinsdorf who was always known as a cheap owner was having to give MJ, Phil and Rodman raises after the 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 seasons. He was gonna break that team up no matter what.
Most these owners will only pay to win as long as it doesn't start costing them more and more money. After a certain point them dudes like fukk it. I got this TV contract, season tickets and sky boxes locked up for years....and that money they get for this shyt is nonrefundable.
