Older Brehs, was Jay-Z's "Imaginary Players" considered a "Dreams & Nightmares"-type hit back in the day?

Nope, it wasnt circulating nationwide. Only nikkas in NY into hip hop were listening. Jay in general is super overrated in my honest opinion. But because the rap game turned into trash a song like Dreams and Nightmares by a trash ass artist like Meek caught nationwide attention. Also the songs are not even similar at all.

I never been to a party 1997 through today where the DJ played Imaginary Players

And I'm from Philly, where nikkas loved Jigga & Rocafella since 96

I mean 60% of the people at every single party are literally imaginary players :dead: . So why would a DJ play that shyt?
