Went to Eric B. & Rakim show last night...they put on a good show...Rakim knew how to work the stage and crowd....Yo-Yo did her thing too...most of younger MC's shows Ive been to weren't like that for the most part...not saying all young rappers can't put on a show...but it's just different...my question is...is it because the older MC's have had more time to perfect their show or is it the young dudes don't care about their live show as much? Was all kinds of ppl in there...from all walks of life...and Ra had control over them for a brief moment in time...let's discuss....

I feel u bruh...just noticed the difference in the quality of the performance...it wasn't a 1000 nagas on stage with Ra just a couple of folks....his cuz was nice on the canvas...naga painted Chuck Brown, then Ra, then Ra over Chuck...they had the Gucci Jackets from the paid in full album...the engineers did a good job..u could hear the actual words, the bass wasn't over powering...my ears arent even ringing like that today...just an overall quality show....

Breh. These new nikkas still got the words for the verses in their stage mix. I can see a chorus/hook, but verses?!? Karaoke requires more skills nowadays.
:scust:.... straight blasphemy bruh...that's y I be kinda leery bout going to younger dudes shows....Ra ripped that shyt just off straight instrumentals...

Even the older MC's had their fair share of folks that were "meh" live. I remember watching the last episode of YO! MTV Raps and Wu-Tang was a snoozefest, but Tribe came on and killed it.

De La Soul is still one of my favorite shows live and those cats are 50 or in their 50's

There was a time in hip hop where you wouldn’t even make it without a good live show. That was the hallmark of a good act. Somewhere along the way nikkas started performing over the actual tracks and DJs stopped cutting live
Damn shame....Ra did some of his classics over other beats in the mix....bruh Yo-Yo ripped her shyt too..and she ain't songs out in a grip....not try to sound like one of them stuck in the 90's nagas...but uh..

I’ve been to a ton of live shows but the best I ever been to was LL giving a free show for the African American Festival back in 04. Just him and a DJ and he absolutely killed it. Red and Meth, the Roots, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Common, Ghostface, Mobb Deep all put on dope shows
