Knicks might have just hired Thibs eventual replacement, Johnnie Bryant from the Jazz. Young brotha, directly responsible for the developments of Paul Milsap, Gordon Hayward and Donovan Mitchell. Jazz fans are pissed.

My general indifference with Thibs has shifted to some cautious optimism with these new assistant announcements.
Johnnie Bryant for Guards and Wings
Kenny Payne for the Bigs

That's a pair of very well liked and recognized developmental coaches for all the youth on this team. I guess the Woodson thing fell through huh? These two names kinda popped up outta no where but I like them a LOT.

Leon the Don is gonna represent us at the lottery too... Bryant could really make something out of an Anthony Edwards... :sas2:

I'm really liking what Leon has done so far. I can't be mad at anything at all including the Thibs signing.

2 of the biggest knocks on Thibs was his lack of development (wasn’t much proof to this) and his lack of personal skills with players of this generation... so the first two assistant coach hires being highly regarded and personable guys with strong backgrounds in development is a great sign. Now i need to hear that we’re hiring a shooting coach.

I've seen some tweets saying that Woodson is still expected to join the staff too. Thibs, Bryant, Payne, Woodson...that's a really strong crew. It would DEFINITELY be big to add a shooting specialist to that mix though.

really liking all these hires :ehh:

remaining cautiously optimistic, not expecting us to be contenders, but hopefully we’re on the way to something solid
