I like him a little better than Vassell tbh. He ain't the defender that Vassell is but his shot is wet and he's active off-ball. He'd be my pick at 8 if Hayes and Toppin are off of the board by then.

What do we think of Nesmith?
I'm looking at this kids shooting numbers and thinking about of our need for spacing especially if Dubious is still here. Over 50% on 8 attempts and 6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan.
If he sucks on defense we got Thibs to help him with that, but his spacing can definitely help off rip. I'm saying because it's looking like none of the pgs available at 8 look to be for sure things.

Not if that nikka becomes an albatross with that much money tied into him. Imagine if this shyt happened and he was still on this roster, nikkas would be rolling at us. Son would've been our first option if he was still here.
I was never the biggest KP fan and I think Phil was absolutely right, he'll always be injured. That being said - you have to do better when you trade him than getting two honey buns and a pack of Skittles.
DSJ is trash and will be out of the NBA in three years. The cap space was spent on bums. The 2023 pick has protections on it, you better pray Luka gets hurt next year and that 2021 unprotected pick is good or they'll have nothing to show for their best trade chip in 5 years.

Y’all forgetting that the trade was also about clearing money for KD and another max player. Specifically Tim’s contract iirc, Mills dug himself in a hole and then fukked us over when it came time to trade.

Not a good defender or playmaker. Not the most athletic either. Just going to be an elite shooter so the thinking is a kid like Vassell who might be the second or third best shooter in this class but gives you way better defense and potential playmaking is ranked higher. Nesmith’s range is 10-15 while Vassell‘s seems to be 7-11.
That wingspan though
dude could put some effort into his defense and be an ok on defense. This team is in need of shooters so RJ and Mitch can do work in the middle.

Best ability is availability. KP is proving himself very injury prone.
