:picard: fukk no trading Mitch a proven talent for an unknown in a weak draft

if there was a clear cut one guy who would be our franchise player, sure.

Trading 8 and 27 on the other hand:yeshrug: fukk it go for it

I just don’t think LaMelo is that dude if that’s who they really want
LaMelo may very well not be that dude, but he's worth taking a gamble on, especially if the alternative is keeping a middling piece like Mitch.

I’m not moving Mitch. I realize that traditional bigs aren’t as valuable in the league but not all traditional bigs have the mobility that Mitch’s athleticism allows for. The biggest challenge for typical giants is that they struggle chasing stretch bigs out to the line and recovering; I think Mitch is built to mitigate that a good deal. That changes the math enough where combined with his sweetheart contract, he’s worth keeping to watch develop.

That said, these trade rumors could signal that the Knicks are squeamish about how expensive it’ll be to re-sign him. It’d be a “better to get something for him than lose him for nothing” type decision. I just don’t see why we should stress it in this current zeitgeist.

1. Everyone is scared about the cap so I suspect contracts are gonna start looking different at least for non-stars.

2. The whole league has devalued big men that don’t stretch the floor. I don’t think we’ll be paying capella money for Mitch bc outside of gobert, there aren’t any traditional big men worth that.

3. Most teams want to go big game hunting next offseason. For us, the goal ought to be to keep our most promising guys so we can go over the cap via bird rights.

but who knows fam? Just my initial take on it.

Lakers just proved Bigs are absolutely still necessary to exploit a team

Mitch is a foul prone rim runner.

His ceiling is Rudy Gobert.

There’s Mitches around the league and in every other draft look at Robert Williams and Jaxson Hayes.

Mitch is also 22 and seemingly will be getting development for once. All this talk about development let's see if they actually can do something :yeshrug:If Mitch truly shows no growth we can let him go anyway :yeshrug:

What is his development? Like I said I see Rudy Gobert not Anthony Davis.

Boys get geeked off his sloppy long nikka handle against amateurs that’s not gonna fly in game.

I don’t see the jumper being a thing for him. I see him getting stronger and learning discipline not dramatically improving skillwise maybe a hook shot becomes part of his arsenal.

robert williams(or jaxson for that matter) isnt a legit 7 footer and he could barely find time to play over a white boy that was getting torched by bam adebayo
robert williams 6'8 and we comparing him to mitch:huhldup:
I get tempering expectations. but if mitch can even have his talent come up to a quarter of his athleticism level we'll have a difference maker.
I mean rudy gobert isnt a bad comp....he's not as stiff as rudy however. Much lower IQ too....but the dude did just set a record for FG percentage :mjlol:
Speaks to his athleticism and motor if anything

I know y'all are interested in him, but something has happened to Devin Vassell's shot. :picard:

@ISO dramatic as fukk with his hot takes :laff: comparing him to these bums and not giving him any props for the flashes . We’re about to get a real coaching staff this year. Let’s see how the boys develop before we start undervaluing them.
