I'd rather the Knicks trade picks to move up for Ball than to trade a pick for CP3. CP3 still plays at a high level but he's more likely to get injured halfway through the season than lead the team to an eighth seed. Personally I think it would suck to CP3 play out the last days of his prime on a team that will struggle to break 35 wins, and a scenario like that will probably invite more fukkery than legitimacy to the franchise.
Ball ain't it.

Knox is better than Frank and hasn't been in the league as long as him. He also has had more games where he's put more on the board especially in the summer league.

Frank been in only one year longer... :unimpressed:

And Knox regressed more when we only needed him to hit 3s while Frank actually improved on his aggression and his handle and was just under 50% on his corner 3s... :francis:

Say what you want bout Frank's scoring but he helps in other areas while Kev, if his shot isn't falling, ain't doing shyt. Hopefully his J comes back next season and we see more chase down blocks and better defense from him under Thibs.

I'm all for swinging for the fences in this draft even if it means trading Robinson.

I think in a draft with this much parity and limited workouts (in-person viewings); I'd stand pat or move back to take multiple swings. I really think 2021 is the draft class to Babe Ruth that ish.

That said, I can dig people wanting to shoot now. It's possible teams undervalue high picks the same way I'm doing. Could be a "strike while you can" moment if the Knicks really like a prospect.

Yeah after thinking about it I've definitely warmed back up to trading up in the draft, and I'm not opposed to including Mitch in trades either at this point, but I'd much rather put the Mavs picks up for trade instead. I think Ball, RJ and Mitch compliment each other pretty well and they'd make for a fun team to watch. I do wonder if the Knicks will go after Wiseman instead if they use Mitch to trade up though....:jbhmm:

He's 23 years old, has averaged 40% on 5 three point attempts per game over the last 2 years and when he got a boost from 20 mpg to 30 mpg for a 15 game run, he exceeded expectations (and his Per's were already promising but it's hard to keep up with per36 projections as minutes increase). Perfect complimentary piece to a pair of young stars that don't shoot well but both play relatively good defense, with 20 ppg upside in his own right.

The only downside is that Minnesota would be nuts not to match any offer he accepts. We're crossing fingers that either owners come up cheap or that a weed charge scares them off...it'll be legal in the tristate soon anyway, so we're good on that.

Malik's been legit; he was one of the Nuggets' best bench players over the last 2-3 years and desperately needed a greater role, but wasn't going to get that in Denver. It came as no surprise that he took full advantage of that when he was traded to Minny last season. And while I do rate him highly as a complementary piece, at the end of the day, that's all he is. Since he's more of an opportunistic player that shines when the spotlight is on other players (who command heavy defensive attention), you don't want to put him in a position where he's at the head of the table, which he would be on this team.

Placing him alongside limited offensive players like Frank, Julius, and Robinson, would only kill his game.

Iggy's got the requisites to be a rotation piece. Swing forward size, promising range, competent putting the ball on the ground and passing, plus he actually has a bit of post play for undersized defenders. The kid looked great in summer league and continued that in the G-league. I'm hopeful that he can come back with the improvements needed to earn NBA minutes this season.

Frank's projected to come off the bench and Randle's been on the block since Rose got here. The Knicks don't sign Beasley to play in a line-up with completely broken spacing. They sign him to play off RJ and whatever PG they add this offseason (and considering rumors about LaMelo, Hayes, Kira, FVV and CP3; I feel like the one thing this FO has let leak is that we'll have a new starting PG before the end of the offseason).
