Azubuike is trash. He’s too slow and doesn’t pass the eye test. I watched a few Kansas games and he was invisible on the court.
Neither can MitchAzubuike can't play more than 10-15 minutes

He's the prototype 5 for the NBA going forward imo. Would be unstoppable in the PnR with CP3/Kira
Like I said you catch crushes on players
That’s why you hate to see Mitch FG% in proper context. His FG% is a direct result of his offensive limitations. It’s a product of 185 dunks. It’s a product of assisted and rebounded shots directly at the rim. It’s a product of taking 10 combined jumpers and hook shots all season.
He barely qualified to capture this record in field goal attempts and games played. His shot volume is very low and he didn’t play many minutes.
The record just shows what he is a great rim runner. There’s really no difference to me between 74% FG and Gobert shooting 70% FG and Robert Williams shooting 72% FG. Tyson Chandler shooting 67% FG with us his first year. At that point it’s a wash you know what you’re getting, hyperefficient paint play.
Wilt himself set this record when he was past his prime on the Lakers taking a career low in shot attempts and mostly shots at the rim. No more sweeping hooks, finger rolls, or baseline fades he was known for.
Shaq would never set this record. He took too many hook shots, short range jumpers, and initiated too much offense with his back to the basket, and against double and triple teams. If you just factored his at the rim %’s like a Mitch he’d have like a 78% FG.
Mitch has no offensive skill other than dunking and is one of the leagues most foul prone defenders. The rim runners have lost their value in NBA GM circles. The Knicks haven’t had transcendent guard play in forever. To me yeah he is worth trading for LaMelo Ball.
Because like I said you can find another rim runner in every draft
Just last year...
-Jaxson Hayes
-Nic Claxton
-Daniel Gafford (70% FG, 3.3 blocks per 36 for Bulls)
-Bruno Fernando
Do these nikkas have to be as good as Mitch? Noooo, they just have to be productive rim runners and rim protectors, I’ll take 75% of the production if it means getting a LaMelo or Edwards.
Azubuike’s rim protection and hyper efficient paint play would translate to the league. His measurables and athletic testing are off the charts, he’s 22 which makes him NBA ready. He did the same shyt in college take nothing but paint shots ended up setting the NCAA record in FG% (79%). He can’t defend in space as well as Mitch (he did slim down) but he has his advantages, he can actually post up and he’s way bigger in terms of mass and even wingspan.

U seem to think this is the only cesspool in the league.your constant devaluing of whatever we have here with assumed potential is weird
you realize the majority of the players you see over on the otherside where the grass is greener would look worse here
given all prior context...lack of player development and a turnstile of coaches.

tyson chandler was seen as a bust for like 7 years and had a career resurgence when provided the proper role in his career for like a 4-5 year spanU seem to think this is the only cesspool in the league.
Yeah dog Gafford is in such a better situation with military Boylen in lottery Chicago and Hayes with Gentry’s no defense playing ass and the W.O.A.T. medical staff.
Players that run and dunk are going to run and dunk everywhere. Tyson Chandler has spent 20 years running and dunking.![]()

It doesn’t matter if he’s better. He’s replaceable. There’s players that can give you good production and play that same role.tyson chandler was seen as a bust for like 7 years and had a career resurgence when provided the proper role in his career for like a 4-5 year span
I like how you brought up tyson chandler like he wasnt the #2 overall pick
This aint that
and mitch is better than gafford and all of the players you mentioned with a higher ceiling

I don't think anyone would not take that offer. I just would not grab that fakkit Lamelo. I'd grab Wiseman and another point guard, one that's talented and not a ball hogging fakkit.Yall got some weird arguments in here.
Mitch and the 8th pick for #1 to #3 pick to grab Melo is a trade you do.
Simple and to the point.
That's not devaluing Mitch - he was drafted in the 2nd fukking round and the premise of this argument is that him, coupled with a mid lotto pick, could grab a top 3 - no one is saying he's trash.
He broke a 40 year old record, absolutely- he also did it in a shortened season, in 20 some odd minutes, as offensive option#5 on the court and/or bailout safety valve on 6 shots a game. That's not discrediting, that's context.
Mitch has crazy potential. So does Melo. Ain't shyt crazy about wanting to swap one for the other.![]()

LaMelo's potential = Magic Johnson's sonMitch potential=More mobile Rudy Gobert
LaMelo potential=Less athletic more rangy Penny Hardaway, a hybrid of Jason Williams and Shaun Livingston

Stop listening to cacsone that's talented and not ball hogging fakkit
