Kira isn’t better than Payton right now relax he’s got a lot to learn.

He wouldn’t start here and he’s not starting in New Orleans. He’s only 19 and weighs a buck 65. I think obviously we would have liked to have him but he was selected before our second pick and I’m very happy with the Toppin selection.

If the future is point forward/main ball handler R.J. then Quickley is a good fit.

My bad, I meant Kira or Winston would be the best PG prospect on the roster. Which is why I keep adding a vet to that approach. You bring in a vet if Kira or Winston or Terry or even Mannion is your guy. But you'd at least have a developmental Guard whose aiming to be the lead guard and playmaker.

Again, I have less problem with passing on Kira now after Toppin fell, it's not about that one comparison. That's why I bring up Winston. We could have used pick 33 on any of the developmental playmakers. Payton wasn't the solution last year and his paycut says even the FO knows he's not the solution next.

Quickley and RJ could be nice to develop next to each other. But you'll still want another ball handler and playmaker in the backcourt with them. Pick 33 could have been an attempt to fill that void. That's the main crux of my complaint, we ought to have come out of the draft with a playmaker. Austin Rivers sorta fits the bill but not as well as I think a purer ball mover would have.

That’s bullshyt my guy we’re talking about a Kentucky kid here let Quickley chuck on a Big East team :mjlol:

9 threes a game at a 30% clip :heh:

I didn't say he was better. Just a more dynamic scorer. Difference between a guy that was the man to guard on his own team and put up 20 ppg, 2 straight seasons (the second with injuries that hurt his efficiency) and a dude who got to play surrounded by elite talent.

I like how you down play all our picks with the shytty ass coaching staff we’ve had over the years:laff: ol Debbie downer ass
I only have problems with two nikkas and you know who they are. I’ve never hated on any other prospect and I don’t really hate on Ntilikina and Knox just spit true undeniable clear facts. :umad:

Nothing wrong with Iggy he’s just a mid-late second round pick and those guys end up in basketball hell between the G-League and NBA and tend not to play much before moving on overseas or to other ventures. That’s just reality he doesn’t really fit what we’ve got going on.

Like Kuzminskas he’ll be a cac combo forward who never really got a true shot :manny:

Spellman might stick as the 3rd PF/center. He’s also under contract longer so keeping him on his rookie scale makes sense.

I wanted a back-up C that could be a change of pace guy and open the floor up a bit. Spellman always struck me as a player that could stick if by being that type of player.

I’ve watched Powell since he started at seton hall. He cannot get his shot off on this level and can’t penetrate

He's gonna have to improve his ball handling a lot. I think he was worth a shot though because if he can get it off at the next level then the kid's jumper off the bounce could be valuable.

They've done a lot of little clever ish to load up on future picks for sure. I definitely can't hate on the FA's they've brought in and the prospects they grabbed make some sense. I still think this roster whiffed on bringing in one important piece that would make everyone's life easier but there's time to the offseason and next year's draft has a few names I wouldn't mind.

Looks like they will see what frank can do and possibly let RJ run as point forward
