Fizdale said he'd have to stagger Ntilikina and Barrett because he'll lean on both of them to handle the ball.

Allonzo Trier, who hasn't played in the past two games, may also see time as a ball-handler.

Fizdale said he's still figuring out how to fit Ntilikina, Wayne Ellington and Trier in the same rotation. He says he has to fined consistent minutes for Ellington because of the attention he draws from the opposing defense as a shooter.

Fizdale also said he's considered starting Bobby Portis at center in place of Mitchell Robinson, but he liked the way Robinson played early on against Orlando Wednesday.

He also disagreed with the idea that Robinson and Marcus Morris are struggled on the court together. New York is being outscored by 35 points in the 67 minutes that Morris and Robinson are on the court together.

"Numbers don't tell the whole story," Fizdale said. "A lot of it is just making shots. If shots are going down for us, the plus minus looks totally different…. If you just look at numbers, you could make decisions based on half the information." Fizdale cited some of Morris' misses, which he and Morris believe will eventually go down.

He’s hurt tho @ the bolded.

Yes a 2nd-3rd year pg may struggle with consistency but at least he’ll flash what he can do offensively (get to the paint ALOT with or without a screen). Towards the end of last year after he was traded to the Mavs I thought he improved his decision making just a bit also.

My issue with Frank will forever be he’s not eighth pick talent, and he never was. Like I said above I’m no longer interested in shytting on the kid, but it’s just unfortunate. One pick could set back a franchise for a little minute :wow:.
I'm aware he's coming off an injury... That doesn't mean he needed the minutes he got because they obviously didn't help. Specifically the minutes where he got booed and Frank's name got chanted

I'm aware that your issue is with the bolded but that's YOUR issue. It doesn't matter where he got picked, it matters that we have him. Now the job is to figure out how to best position him to succeed and if he can contribute to this team playing winning basketball. I believe he can

:russ:@ starting Portis at Center. This dude doesn't seem to care about rim protection. Again no method to the madness.

I'm uncomfortable with the end of it and confused by the middle but the end makes the middle clearer. Essentially, he's gonna start Mitchell, Morris AND Randle until he's tired of it, and if someone is gonna come off the bench to clear spacing issues it's gonna be Mitch

Statistically (and probably objectively) he's correct. This is an uncharacteristic year for Mook as he's shooting terribly from 2 bringing his fg% below 40. That's gonna tick back up eventually. The reason Mook should come off the bench isn't because he's missing but it's because we're assuming Fiz isn't gonna bench Randle as our projected best player. Had that middle said Randle would go to the bench instead of Mitch I think we'd be happy with that

I get why he's trying to get the Morris/Randle combo to gel, but it's frustrating as hell to watch right now especially if it comes at the expense of Mitch. Knox switching in for one of the big contract guys would keep our best rim protector on the floor without blowing up spacing.

morris and randle looks terrible

randle isn't as bad as ppl in here make him out to be. he just needs to slow down a bit.

Looking at tbe schedule these dudes might deadass only win 3-4 games this month.:picard:
Schedule doesn't look that bad

The Kings, Hornets, Cavs 2x, Bulls, Blake-less Pistons all coming up and we can certainly surprise some of these better teams we are facing and we are facing the Nets and Spurs two teams we already fought hard against.

On few different levels. Trier situation for me encapsulates a lot that's currently wrong with coaching/management.

With two guards out for the game Fizdale couldn't find any minutes for Trier who was a starter in the opening game :dahell: And of course Fiz had that whole speech before the game how he's no longer ISO Zo but improved and a team player, cut to him getting bushed after a poor shooting game. How does that happen?

Trier is not a new player that you didn't have time to evaluate, he's a known commodity. He didn't have a meltdown out there like DSJ (even though I think he would've had DSJ in there the next game if not for death in the family). He was the same old Zo from last season just trying to be more pass friendly. So that means Fizdale royally fukked up by starting a player who a week later he feels is not good enough to even see the court with a shortage at his position.

There is zero direction, offensive identity, planning or proper talent evaluation in this team.

Did Perry and Mills even talk to Fizdale about free agent signing and how they would fit? Is there an internal depth chart?

I just want the win. Stop stat watching because you're gonna be groaning along with us when Randle stumbles and bumbles his way into another double-double
