Would love for DSJ to come back tomorrow night with Elfrid still out. Bet the garden gives him a standing ovation and him and Frank can lock down the pg duties going forward.

Agreed.

I don't see how brehs are saying we are trash from what has been exhibited.

Free throws were the difference between win and loss for every game but one.
because we are trash:yeshrug:
unlesss you want to count moral victories or something. im kinda over that
good teams hit their freethrows and close games.
any team can say on any given night that woulda won if we did this or did that but at the end of da day we are 1-5.

we got heart, but da talent isnt there

It could take weeks if not month to implement an offense. Especially as Fiz wraps his head around the idea that RJ and Frank together will run the offense.

They should say that cause the media will eat them alive. Though usually good young teams focus on defense first and create a culture around that. So like I said yesterday, as long as they are playing tight games even if they are losing that is part of the process.

Funny thing is the knicks ain’t even really bad. They would be like 2-3 right now if Kyrie and Tatum Didn’t hit those shots cause that Celtics game was winnable. I wouldn’t give the season up yet to be honest. Not like y’all getting beat out the building.

That's what I'm saying. We're a year away I think, but that's perfectly acceptable if we get games like last night for 4 out of 8 players in the rotation and 3 out of 5 starters were 21 years old or younger. To be that competitive with playoff teams while sporting that much youth in key roles, that's basically what I was hoping for. If they hit closer to 80% of their free throws instead of 60% then they'd be over achieving right now.

Frank deserves to start, or at least share PG duties with Payton. I actually think Frank is better playing off the ball because he doesn't have the mindset or penetrative/passing ability to play PG. But I trust him to play good individual defense and good team defense, and to knock down the 3 at a decent clip.

Randle needs to chill. He acts like a first option but he is better suited as a second option. I think RJ is the better playmaker in the half court set, he just needs to learn to pass more effectively once he's penetrated the defense. It seems like he hits GO mode once he starts penetrating regardless of what the defense is doing. He has to learn to be patient, take what the defense gives him, and be ready to score OR pass once he gets into the paint.

Morris needs to improve his passing as well. He handles the ball at a lot but only looks for his own shot.

DSJ :francis: welcome to the second squad. He's not a better PG than Payton or Frank.

Knox, keep letting that thang fly :mjlit: and taking to the hole with aggression :mjlit:

Portis, I respect him... he's been playing great :ehh:

Team defense is improving. Randle is an obvious weak link but hopefully he works on his rotations and on-ball defense.

Overall I like where the team is going, keep it up :salute:
