IDC about a playbook this early in the season if he's focusing on certain things...

I do care that he's trial and erroring his way into rotations he should've figured out in his head

I also care that when it comes to prioritizing minutes and plays, it goes by who got paid instead of who's played the best/hardest/smartest

I also care that when the game is on the line, he hasn't figured out who his go to should be (either RJ or Barrett)

It's disconcerting that when we NEED a point, the play is to run Julius Randle from the top of the key when that is a HIGHLY unsuccessful play. At the very least run it off a fukking pick and roll!

Sorry... I'm rambling

I feel you on most of this for sure. The Randle/Portis experiment shoulda been over after the first attempt at it. I do think it’s a bit frustrating the he forced some combos that wouldn’t work and stumbled into ones that made sense.

I will say, Barrett needs the ball in his hands late but he also has to be a better free throw shooter to really lock his case up. I’d also have liked to see Knox get more touches, he shot us back into the game and had two strong drives.

The Randle iso at the top of the key and also running a very similar play four times in a row to Ellington are why I say we need a playbook though. We have Morris and Randle, double screens should be happening all the damned time. I want more Spain pick and rolls, drill that ish till we don’t need a go to player late...just that go to play.

Out of all the options he looked the best . Start trier or Knox as well .
Too one handed, dribble is too loose, jumpshot not good enough. All of that gets exposed when he has the ball for an extended period on time, especially since Randle and Morris do him no favors on offense.

Free throw shooting not good enough and not confident enough to take an open 3 when given space (can't go in for layups with Randle clogging up the space).

As long as we credit him for the come back. He just needs to be more creative. Going to Wayne works a couple times. Use him as a diversion and get Knox a few too. Actually run a fukking play at the end of the game other then Julius iso
I watched again. It started off as a Wayne Ellington curl that turned into a Randle iso. The Nets picked their poison and it was Julius because they KNEW he would do what he did. Julius should've been FAR away from this play and I blame Fiz for that. Have this same play with RJ (who actually began the play), Ellington and Knox and I'm okay no matter which way that play ends

Yo, you're out of your mind. No shyt you feed the hot hand, but when your hot hand is covered where is the secondary action after that???????????
are you comprehending what I'm saying bro?????????????
he's not stephen curry if he's covered which he was you want him to take low iq jumpers? Even he knew he couldnt get a jumper off but hesitated the last time cause he didnt know where to go with the ball immediately when covered...and TRAVELED. When you over play and help on a shooter like that a simple pass to one of his screeners would more than likely lead to a bucket. But them nikkas set screens for him and stand there. you pinning all your hopes on your jumper from the same play over and over....with nothing else. Thats terrible basketball....when jj reddikk comes off a billion screens like that when covered...he takes a dribble and moves the rock. :mjlol:
J.J. Redikk like Ellington shoots damn near everything he touches :mjlol:

You could say all this secondary action should've could've would've shyt it literally doesn't matter. We were losing this game because we don't have a closer. The Nets do it's that simple.

we really need a fukkin go to player on this team man
2 games in a row now we role players tryin to be mj and shyt when da game is on the line.
dis nikka morris really attempted a step back 3 when we were up 1:gucci::snoop:
trier shoulda been out there, but i cant put da l on fizz. the line up out there had plenty of chances to win.

there's a bigger issue at hand.we are good enough to compete and keep it close, but we are gonna lose plenty of games because we dont have a reliable and consistent player to close out games for us.

all the good teams got dat guy,, we dont.

cmon fam, jj reddikk is a much better player than ellington and has a higher iq and moves the ball if he aint got it. :camby:
and to say it doesnt matter? :mjlol: we literally didnt score a point for 3 minutes. WE AINT NEED A CLOSER we were clamping them up until kyrie took over 2 times in a row cause we couldnt put any space between us and them.
decent basketball wouldve been the closer you were looking for :mjlol:
we get 1bucket instead of boneheaded play after boneheaded play we might have won:mjlol:

Morris is still good in my book :manny:

But this is who Randle is. I don't want to hear anyone blame the coaching. @Gil Scott-Heroin been telling y'all about son a rock brain, bully balling, turnover machine, who gets counting empty stats usually when it doesn't matter. Y'all complaining about his post touches but this is who he is, literally one of the least efficient post players over the years who insists on posting up.
Normally I'd laugh at this shyt, but there's nothing funny about all these young dudes on y'all team being pushed to the side and having their progression halted, all because Big Blacky The Left wants to epitomize the dire state of Knicks basketball.

It's like the Basketball Gods sent Julius to y'all to suffer in eternal damnation.
