Pascal and Vanvleet are shining examples of why developing your young guys is important. :francis:
One was undrafted and became a solid role player on a winning team and the other a late 1st rounder and now an allstar :unimpressed:

But yet nikkas wanna ship out our youths when this team hasn't been fully dedicated to developing them and dont wanna take chances on any mid to late 1sts in exchange for these vets. :snoop:

To be fair, Siakham and Van Vleet had time to develop because they had good players ahead of them in Derozan/Kawhi for Siakham and Lowry for Van Vleet.

Knick youngsters don't have that luxury due to the dusty mofos playing ahead of them. Frank might be a better player if he had some time to work in the G league and/or backup an all star PG. Nope the pressure was on to beat out the likes of Sessions, Jack, and Mudiay. He could not (very telling) and the Knicks have been looking for stop gaps ever since instead of truly addressing the need for an upgrade at that position.

Same shyt for Trier. Same shyt for Knox. But even worse for these 2, NY keeps signing mercs on short term deals to play ahead of em.

If we sign more reclamation projects this summer on the same type of deals, I may truly be done.

I hear you breh but over the years watching the Warriors, Bucks, Sixers, Pacers etc be patient its tiring watching this team try to put a bandage over a bullet wound all the time.

I said earlier they should sign DeRozan, y'all disagreed.

I said CP3, a lot of people disagreed. I would easily get Jamal Crawford and Iguodala out of retirement for rookie improvement. I'd even give David Lee a side gig training Robinson and Wooten on perimeter shooting.

Now.....I think they should give Jason Kidd a coaching job after Mills is fired. He could be really good for Frank Ntilikina.

This league is filled with spacers, shooters, defenders. Train these guys with players that have already been in finals. That's the difference between Morris and the rest of the vets. Morris is coachable, Taj and Bullock are coachable. They can all play with spacers and can sit on the bench. The others can't.

At this point, they need to dump Randle and Portis for experienced shooters that can space the floor and picks. RJ and Frank play better with spacers and it makes their assist record look good.

It's unfixable to run an offense with Randle, Morris and Taj on the floor because they all have similar playing styles. You literally only need one and Morris is the most efficient so Randle should be sitting on the bench behind Morris. Payton sucks as a point guard but he would look a lot more competent and tradable if it was:

Payton
RJ/Dotson
Dotson/Knox
Morris/Randle
Robinson/Wooten

Taj should only be getting 10 minutes a game if the coaching was working without Mills/Perry/Dolan influence.

Just run
RJ/Dotson/Bullock/Morris/Mitch after the deadline

My post wasn't an endorsement for signing Derozan. I was saying starting out as a complimentary player to Derozan and later Kawhi enabled Siakham to develop into an all-star. Unlike Knick rookies where the pressure is on to be good right away.

And Jason Kidd can't save Ntilikina fam. He's a good defender that's it. He has no offensive game nor is there any part to his offensive game that has upside. That's not a starter and barely makes him a fringe NBA player. His defense has NEVER stolen us a game we had no business winning. Therefore it's a wash.
Year 1: Terrified of shooting and dribbling
Year 2: Scared to death of shooting and dribbling
Year 3: No longer afraid...just sucks at shooting and is better of as a secondary or even 3rd ball handler.
This is who Frank is, my guy.

We need to get Cole Anthony but this team is so easy to manage if they weren't so fixated on "winning". We can't think like that with no star power.
