RJ watching Mook take mid range jumpers all game while he stands in the corner doesn’t make him better or give him the practice/experience at being a cornerstone of this team.
Mook earned the right to take the shots he did by consistently knocking them down. He was like our only good floor spacer all season. :mjlol:

The truth is that R.J. has one of the highest usage rates among all rookies and is an inefficient bully baller with an inconsistent shot and left hand dominance. If hypothetically Morris had a multi-year deal with us eventually we would see R.J. grow into taking more shots than him and being the man on offense.

I'd keep Barrett, maybe Robinson and that's about it. Hopefully Knicks make better decisions in drafts moving forward. When Michael Porter Jr slipped I really thought they should have taken the risk on him but I realize now that the front office was too scared about getting fired to gamble.
This is always the truth. I remember when LD left my Hawks and went to the Bucks and gave them the intel we had on Giannis. That he would be the best player in the NBA one day. Dumbass literally got fired the next year even though he was right about Giannis and they took him. GMs can't risk going upside when results are expected now.

My Hawks are stable front office wise now, we drafted a high floor prospect #4, traded up to get him. Any owner who is a firebreather would be like, are we getting a superstar? What? Just a role player at best likely. He might possibly become as good K. Leonard with development, maybe. Why draft him if he's older, lower ceiling, and might need some time?

But our owner was like, build a team that could win a title down the road, whatever it takes. Then he went low floor, high ceiling #10. That's a little easier at that stage but if your GM is close to being fired, he might not be as risky.

I said when the season started, you guys were in a better position than my Hawks last year when our season started. My questions were about the development of the important players, aka the core like Barrett and Robinson and were these the right vets for them.

Now in Feb, my question is, I don't think so and while you guys have been overperforming analytical expectations, the rookies and vested young players seem no better situation wise than they were in before the season started, in fact, worse. So what're the real goals for the Knicks?

I am not sure about your future. I wish Dolan would make up his mind. Are you going to rebuild and put quality vets around these rookies who would supplement them or are you gonna do what you did this year where you sign guys who are all about getting there's and they aren't worried about R.J's future, they are worried about their own.

Teams like Memphis this year have overly figured this out. NY is still trying to figure it out.

Would Ben Simmons be someone you guys are interested come “disgruntled star” season? What would it take to get him you guys think?

I think you cap your team's potential when you bring in a guy that offensively limited to be the centerpiece of your team. It's clear he can't shoot, doesn't really have any interest in shooting and while you can cobble together a team around him(Simmons driving + shooters) that could be effective, you're not getting to the promised land with that guy.

mike miller coaching to have a job next year...whether as an assistant or head coach...which explains these lineups.
he doesnt have the autonomy to just throw a bunch of our young inconsistent players out there and put them through trial by fire.
I dont give a shyt about 85 percent of this roster, and we arent making the playoffs....so these pointless ass wins where we got closing lineups with all vets dont move me.
I hope a bunch of these players get bought out in the next couple weeks
