I’m partly posting this to gloat at everyone who said he would be trash... but mostly as an example of just how much were truly failing RJ. The athletic wrote an article about how the Hawks worked on Cam’s lower body mechanics on catch and shoots cause he was always off balance. They also taught him to use his length when finishing instead of his athleticism so could draw more fouls. And the shyt is paying dividends cause the player he was in December vs today is night and day.
Reading shyt like that really fukking hurts cause as plugged in as we are with the Knicks we don’t hear anything even close to this extensive about any of our young Knicks. Instead, we’ve literally wasted a whole season trying to get Julius Randle, Bobby Portis and Elfrid Payton as many minutes as possible for what fukking reason? The coaching staff is arguing about minutes not equaling to development, but aren’t talking about what they’re actually doing to develop the kids in practice. We don’t have a shooting coach. We don’t have a sophisticated training staff. All the fukking money Dolan has, there is no reason we shouldn’t have the best training staff and facilities. shyt is ridiculous.

I just feel if RJ were put in a position to succeed, he would be doing a lot better than he has done this season
People want to judge him in this shyt fire of a system where he is a 3 or 4th option at best w/ Payton, Randle, Portis, etc freezing him out as he watches from the corner
I think that's stupid
No rhythm to his game because he doesn't constantly touch the ball to get or stay in rhythm
He can build on his ability to get to the basket at will with the right guidance combined with his work ethic
Look at Knox
People can say Knox is a bust and there's no hope but there was no hope for Cam who people were saying was a bust in December (statistically he was beyond garbage)
Then Cam gets some development and look at him now
Has anyone done for that for Knox, Frank,, Mitch, and now RJ?
If RJ were drafted by the Raptors or Spurs, I guarantee you Nurse or Pop would mold rj into a STAR OR SUPERSTAR
Imagine RJ being mentored by Ginobli who was a master of balance, body control, and coordination
Pop would turn RJ into Ginobli on steroids :yeshrug:

Agreed. That wasn’t a Cam is better than RJ post. It was a Cam isn’t gonna be a bust and i wish RJ actually had an organization as invested in his development as Atlanta has been in Cam.

Cam's biggest issue is that he played like he hated ball, so I'm nowhere near ready to say he's on his way. He's gotta sustain this.

But Reddish is having nights that Knox hasn't had. Knox doesn't know what it feels like to be great, even for a night. That's why I've been all for sending him down. Let him have a game in Westchester where he gets 25 and 10. He'll feel better. It's mostly mental with him. Knox has this :sadcam: look on his face all the time. He's miserable.

Give them a week where they all get 32+ minutes at home. Maybe they win, maybe they lose, but nobody will criticize the idea of what the Knicks are trying to do.

Frank is about to enter his walk year and summer league might not be the worst idea for him. Knox MUST be there. And put him on Dominican Power too while we're at. Nothing will toughen him up like a bunch of nikkas from Dyckman calling him a bum on a hot August night.

I think homeboys main point is that other organizations are putting their young players in positions to succeed by developing and working on weaknesses at a level that we have NEVER seen the Knicks do. The fact that Atlanta can work on Cam's mechanics in season to help him play better while we can't even figure out how to get RJ consistent looks (without Randle and Elfrid ignoring him for long swaths of time) speaks volumes

Cam has bigger weaknesses than his mechanics that will take longer to fix. RJ has his struggles but he's had his moments too, so I'm not worried yet with him. The other guys look more and more like lost causes, especially Knox.

Again, I think we all agree but that's not the point. The point is the team should be doing more

I know it wasn't a Cam > RJ post
You were trying to make the point that Cam and other young players in general have been put in a position to succeed while RJ has not

That's a lie
Knox had some great games/moments his rookie season
He had some decent games this season outside of being a disaster
