this is why yall can't take things fizz says so literal. he uses the media as a tool to motivate his guys. i think a feew people in here called him a liar or some shyt lol its all media training

when he said he was gonna start bobby portis over mitchell regardless of mitch was healthy, he was giving portis some motivation since portis wasnt playin good. it might have carried over into da bulls game.

same thing with frank. saying he played fantastic is an exaggeration but its a way to encourage and motivate him for future games.

Frank did play good aside from missing 4 threes. He got strips which lead to offensive points from RJ, Knox, Randle and Portis despite not scoring. There's times where even great players have bad games but played good.

All things aside, I was critical of Frank not playing good offensively and defensively but when I saw him playing aggressive, getting steals, at most 1 turnover on a pass, i reserved my judgement. I watch how players play off the ball as well as on the ball. When he has the ball, players move into a certain rotation. He probably reads Fiz plays more efficiently than others, I dunno.

maybe we got different definitions of the word.
frank played well, and helped us win.
but i cant look at 0 points, 2 assists, and 3 turnovers in any fashiom for any player and say that equals fantastic lol

@DoubleClutch I'm interested to know your current...and hopefully adjusted outlook on RJ Barrett. Do you still think the Knicks should've drafted Cam Reddish over RJ?

Thanks. RJ is definitely more NBA ready mentally and physically than Reddish, but I never doubted that.

That said, I really haven’t seen much of Reddish other than that dunk he had yesterday.

My angle was trading down for 2-3 picks in exchange for RJ (Reddish/Hachimura/Herro) which ain’t bad no matter how you package it.

Herro is obviously the best out of em all so far.

Now just image any of these guys with the same opportunity RJ is getting on the Knicks. All would be putting up similar or even better numbers.

Maybe Reddish would be doing better if Wizards drafted him? Who knows?

The league is all about where you land and opportunities and fit.

RJ is a good fit with the Knicks so I was wrong about that. Can’t say he’s better than I thought or even improved since college but he has surprised me though.

He’s doing the same things he was doing in college (against weaker players) as he is in the NBA. I didn’t think his play style would translate well to the league. But that “mamba mentality” goes a long way.

He still can’t shoot though, and that was my main criticism for the Knicks drafting him as SG on a team that lacks shooters.

And no he isn’t the answer to all the Knicks problems. That probably would’ve been Ja Morant.

Frank's table setting explained. This thread is dope and shows why Frank got the ball moving well without notching many assists. A more obvious example of smart passes that technically aren't playmaking would be RJ's late hockey assists. Finding players with a spacing advantage or mismatch doesn't always appear on the boxscore but can be a catalyst.

yes I feel he’ was looking to run the offense while I feel Payton tbh looks for Morris and Randle primarily which is good for like 4 assists but he doesn’t really look to table set

I'm not really mad at how Payton has run the point given his circumstances. I really just don't think our starting unit has the spacing necessary or the ball movement for a PG to thrive. Either Ellington or Knox has to shift into the starters to clean that spacing up. But...if we're gonna completely limit the PG's offense anyway, then the best defensive PG might as well be the guy to play.
