I also think we're having 2 different discussions also

Some naysayers make arguments that Frank is never gonna be a starting point guard because of the reasons you state. Which I'm fine with that. The argument I've always made is that a great defender should be getting minutes regardless of whether he's putting the ball in the basket. I don't care if Frank starts because ultimately he's probably never going to be a good starting NBA point guard. But I think it's stupid to not play him

Edit: So the 2 discussions are "Frank as the potential starting point guard" and "Frank as a regular rotation player"

You're right. These are additional conversations we have been having about him. His defensive capabilities does lead to a discussion about whether or not his offense is even required to justify him getting regular minutes. However a discussion like that is a philosophical difference. Either way, I'm just happy to see his confidence is high and he is taking advantage of his physical skills.

I'm being dead serious (NO TROLL). But I really don't understand the love affair for him. Every other player on the Knicks, even the coach has been sh*tted on by NYK fans (especially on this board) yet Frankfurter gets pass after pass after pass.
Thats because hes only 21. I actually expected it to take longer for him to develop. If he can keep playing like he did against the Mavs there wont be complaints

Theres only been 2 or 3 of us that have never stopped believing in Franks potential as at least a good role player. Everyone else hasnt been giving him passes.

Matter of fact first game he played he only got 3 minutes. And all my Knicks brehs turned on him, after just 3 minutes. So what you said is false, im one of the few that has givin him passes.

We have seen some other young players get written off like D Lo only to see him have a break out year with the Nets last year. Theres a serious problem in this era with expecting too much too fast. There is no patience for young players anymore. Those who chose to conform to that way of thinking are free to do so, but ill stick to a more rational approach when analyzing young talent

If anything Frank has received lots of unfair hate. Compare that to Knox who did get passes despite shooting horribly and playing no defense as a rookie. And still playing very little defense this year

Age not excuse. Him & DSJ the same age, come from the same draft class, and he gets all types of venom from fans.

And I seen Knox catch hell from yall as well.

starting point guard

Edit: And because he doesn't start doesn't mean he's not valuable. That's another disagreement I think we have

Any heat Knox caught was with the understanding that he should and would get more minutes

Any heat Frank caught came with the understanding that he would not get the minutes he needed to develop into what we're hoping for.

I would, I think he's the best prospect in the draft and the best big man prospect since Embiid. If Wiseman can play actually the 4 in the NBA then the Knicks will finally have a high level core.
Yes the Knicks must pair RJ/Wiseman at all costs if Wiseman is available
I don't see how they don't choose Wiseman if he's there
In terms of Wiseman and Mitch, if they can't work together Mitch will either have to come off the bench or be traded for some shooters and picks

Frank's caught the same venom in here. Thread was literally full of people going back and forth over him after the Bulls game, with one side saying he sucks.

This notion that he's avoided criticism or unwarranted hate by fans is nonsense.

Doesnt mean i have to think the same way you do. Some players develop later when theyre 25 or 26, just the way it works sometimes

You seem to not acknowledge that such a thing as a "late bloomer" exists, like many of the others

I said right out the gate Smith Jr will be much better then Frank the first 3 to 5 years. But that Frank will have the longer career

Someone like Gerald Green who was a lottery pick was trash the first several years of his career. Came out of high school, finally became a good role player in his mid to late 20's

We are addicted to instant gratification in this modern society, social media and smart phones have trained us to be this way. I believe that plays into the thinking of many Coli brehs that have no patience for young players in general, not just Nitty

What in there is an excuse? :beli:

Edit: And please tell me you feel Kevin Knox played better than Frank while you're at it

They were both equally bad last year.

Its literally like 3 posters who are not part of the Frank love fest.

The rest of yall have treated that cat with kid gloves regarding any type of criticism. What I'm asking is why doesn't no other player on this team get the same type of leeway.

I like Frank as a player and I'm happy for the kid
I knew he had it in him he just needed the playing time for his development
That being said, Frank does tend to get a lot of leeway
I remember players like Melo literally getting blamed for everything
"omg it's Melo's fault KP is this way he rubbed off on him" :mjlol:
Knicks fans tend to pit players they like against one another and play favorites
They pick and choose who to scapegoat and shyt on and who is on their shyt list changes over time

Just the Knicks way
