fizz doesnt have stans
i personally dont care whether he stays or goes. just recognize that hes not da reason this team sucks.

him going isnt gonna change shyt.

There's a difference between. "The Knicks are a bad team" and "The Knicks are a bad team but they're better than this"

If you can't acknowledge that, you're just stanning. At least the Frank crew has always admitted his flaws and what he needs to work on.

You expect coaches to do magic or something. It doesn't work like that.

Ah yes, installing an offense; setting a logical rotation with normal spacing; having defensive accountability....it's witchcraft to do such things.

ive critcized da coach several times in here when it was warranted, do ya googles.
but you seem to think we are a great team and da only thing holding us back is our coach.

like our coach can force us to hit freethrows and become great shooters overnight. steve mills would love to have you on his staff:wow:

Fam, you quoted me saying THIS

Fam, this is exactly why I say you're stanning for Fiz. I acknowledge that they're bad but think they can be better bad team than they are right now and you read that as "they're supposed to be great and it's only the coach holding them back." :snoop:

i dont care about being "better bad"
maybe with a better coach we are 4-6
my issue is, the team is mismanaged trash.
its bigger den a coach or one player.
da team is self up to fail regardless of da coach

It should be watchable though. They should be able to play competitive ball even if they come up short on most nights. There are ways to make this team's tank an easier pill to swallow:

- Emphasize the youth more with the vets playing off of them rather than dominating possessions. Yall have fallen back to blaming Frank for this but it was the same with Payton and Smith through preseason to now. It's the same when Trier and RJ play too, they attack more than Frank in the PG role but both dudes look out of sorts until they're moved to a wing role.

- Fix the spacing AND the ball stopping. You can fix one without breaking up Randle and Morris; but you can't fix both. And you DEFINITELY can't if you're gonna have Portis with them for long stints.

- Stop making dribble handoffs so integral to the damned offense and let ball handlers run more basic high pick and rolls, especially when you need to get guys into a rhythm.

- Combine floor spacers. We got Dot and Ellington at the same time last night...more of that!

- Start punishing these guys if they slip every screen...even Mitch does it. Taj is the one player on this team reliably setting screens to the extent that he's picking up Offensive Fouls but nobody else even bothers waiting for contact. This is high key why everybody looks awkward as hell driving. It's not just Knox anymore. Our ball handlers never get space from the initial defender and the poor spacing means they've got no place to go.

All of that besides the last one could 100% be fixed by Fiz. The last one isn't really on him except that he should be emphasizing it. When Jordan was in the building, Mitch took a step in the right direction so there's hope.

The Knicks are horrible but they'd at least look like a professional squad if they had a veteran PG at the helm who knew how to distribute the ball and run an offense(or at least get the ball out of Randle's hands). Look at what Rubio's doing with the Suns, sometimes you just need to have a calming presence at the point

I mean if we're really honest with ourselves....is anybody reeeally surprised at yesterdays outcome? This has been typical Knick basketball since 2014. Good performance, signs of turning a corner, followed by an extreme letdown, and we look NOTHING like the same team from the previous game. No matter who the regime is, it's been the same. Fisher, Hornacek, Rambis (lol), now Fizdale.

But how? How do these coaches keep making the same mistakes and having the same issues? The constant has been Mills. And I guess Dolan. He's the owner and tho he claims to be hands off, Mills is likely his mouthpiece. First there was Phil meddling and undermining Fisher and Hornacek at every turn. Run this offense. It's mine. I won six championships with it. Trust me. Meanwhile here's a shot 1st PG, no defenders, no playmakers, and Joakim Noah's corpse. shyt at least Hornacek had Rose. Fisher had got dam Jose Calderon!

I have to put it on Mills and Perry. They signed these guys. They hired Fizdale. He wasn't my choice. I never understood why some dudes coveted him. I actually wanted Stackhouse. I figured if we were tearing down the whole thing and starting over, why not have a young coach too? He had G-League success and his toughness would trickle down. No player was gonna say "fukk you Stack" without catching them hands. They approached Bud but he's not with that tanking shyt. He told them he wasn't with it. I see now that he was the right choice...if winning was a priority. It's not. There was a clear mandate to go for the #1 pick last summer. Fiz happily accepted the job thinking he'd have rope with the front office since they knew they'd suck.

When KD and Kyrie passed, they shoulda threw a bag at Kemba. In hindsight I have no idea how they didn't know they weren't getting those guys. When they gave up KP, I assumed there was a back channel conversation with KD and/or Kyrie that took place something like this:

KD/Kyrie: I'm not doing discounts. You get me all my money and I'm there. And KD/Ky wants all his bread too.
Pills: Say no more fam. We'll get the money.
*KP becomes disgruntled*
Pills (calls back KD/Ky): Yo...if this Unicorn knicka wasn't here....yall still gonna sign??
KD/Ky: Yeah. He ain't all that. He'll be our number 3 anyway
Pills: Cool! We DEFINITELY gonna have that bread now! We'll holla!

Since they didn't get any of the big 3 K's, they shoulda addressed the most important position on the court: PG. A creator like Kemba would have us at least 4-6 or 5-5. With a real pg like Kemba, there is no Randle pretending to be a point forward. He's not looking Kemba off. So they gave a goofy ass coach a goofy ass roster instead. Fiz is not creative, innovative, or anything a coach needs to be to overachieve. And he has no real pg on the roster. Facts. Frank is a back up. Elfrid is a back up. DSJ is....an unknown. So he's fukked.

I say all this to say...this is our life til Dolan sells. Or fires Mills and his replacement has true, full autonomy. But that aint happening :sadcam:
