Lonnie Walker IV is pretty much in the exact same spot Frank's now in, and Pop has ruined his confidence this season by using him as a scapegoat (in a public forum, nonetheless) for the Spurs' bad performances, and even pulling him from the game multiple times if he makes one mistake.

Dejounte made the All-Defensive Second Team because of narrative, not because of Pop.

Yes, narrative. Players don’t make All-Defensive teams playing 21.5 minutes per game. And that’s not to say his D ain’t exceptional pause.

If Dejounte isn’t a Spur he probably don’t sniff the team.

After seeing FIBAFrank show out against the MAGS, I refuse to believe that was some fluke and that great coaching can't bring out consistency in him.

If we can get RJ, Knox, Morris to put up numbers around him and get Mitch to avoid foul trouble, it would be really easy for Frank to put up numbers.

The knicks need to work on screens and pick and rolls. Get Randles tunnel vision ass outta there and play him with the other tunnel guy ISO Zo.

So let me get this straight...the one game Frank wasn’t horrible and completely useless as a PG WASN’T a fluke...

But every other game where he’s been weedplate status was a fluke...?

To make the 1st/2nd All-Defensive teams you need a narrative behind your play, as you do with any type of individual accolade. Playing good defense isn't enough by itself. Dejounte only averaged 21 minutes that season and a large amount of his defensive resume was built on what he did against 2nd units. If he did that shyt on the Kings, nobody would've been paying attention to him.

There were more impactful defenders that season that didn't get the benefit of narrative on their side.

For the record: I like Frank, so I'm not trying to take sides here on the original argument.

You don't have to stop being a Knicks fan. However, you don't have to be actively invested in this team until they become good again.

Stop watching Knicks games or buying Knicks merchandise. That's what I'm doing.

It's not good for anyone's health to be actively invested in the Knicks .
