We need a 2012-13 Jason Kidd leadership type of player on a two year contract at most. Not an injury prone guy making $40 million.
And CP3 is that
Like I said him being injury prone isn't that important. We are a rebuilding squad we only need 60 games out of him and 25-30 minutes a game. His salary also isn't all that troublesome because we have the space to absorb it and we won't be in play for big free agents as a rebuilding team.
CP3 may be declining but he's far from a bum. He is a very good point guard. He's averaging 16/4.5/6.3 on 46/38/90 splits with 2 steals, he's playing to a 21 PER, he's still pretty valuable on both ends and leads OKC in win shares. OKC was expected to be a bottom feeder and they're 12-14 with Paul. He also hasn't
missed a game so far this season. Some of y'all complained about his usage but he's at a career low usage rate and has been deferring and mentoring Shai.
I don't see him falling off a cliff in the next 2.5 years. He instantly improves the team and helps us with player development. Paul knows how to run a team it's that simple.
