Seeing THjr in Dallas makes me realize that the reason he struggled here is because he was forced to be something he's not. THjr is better off as a complementary player who can step up occasionally, he kills it in that role, he can't be your best offensive player while surrounded with no facilitators. Lesson learned I suppose. The Knicks gotta do a way better job of putting the players on the team into a position to succeed.

Same thing with KP. He’s not a 1.

Tim not doing nothing special he’s just playing with a transcendent player (Luka)

Last season he was putting up numbers anchoring our offense but started getting injured and his efficiency started dipping

He is who he is...a chuck

Timmy Jr was also much better with the Hawks then he was with us. Unless your a superstar your not gonna look good on the Knicks. Even Julius is losing value with us where as with the Pelicans his value went up. There is some truth to some of the things @CantStop says

We are too hard on Julius. Fukks he suppose to do with this roster? If we had an all star calibre point guard he wouldnt be handling the ball making turnovers and he would have less opportunities to go 1 on 3 in the post. Our roster is poorly constructed and the blame should go to that little rat Mills and freckles

Fukk Mills hes a snake. He was telling Rose we black we gotta stick together. And he didnt even contact Rose after that season. Rose would have been a good low budget point guard for us

Just one more thing....i noticed half of Knickstape is posting in the Grizzlies thread now. Count me in :mjlol:

"But his passing was really promising and took a hit by the fact that the Knicks just were not making shots. This was most apparent in a second quarter stretch where Mitch missed a dunk and then Frank fed Knox beautifully in the lane for another missed shot from right inside the paint. But there were more of these moments from Portis, Dot and Allen as well"

"As I've said, his assist tally could have been higher if players hit some open and easy looks that he created. That would really help his box score. "

This is bullshyt. Did you count all of the blown assists that Julius Randle, Payton, or Morris or anyone else would have had if other players made their shots?

All you're doing is throwing every thing you can think of to puff up your view that Frank is better than what he is. He's already shown improvement this year. There's no need to try to dress it up and make it seem like he's even better than that.

Payton is passing to these same people and getting higher assists. Frank has gotten better. But there's no need to pretend like he's better than what he is.

I’m a firm believer that not all assists are created equal. I don’t know how to quantify it, you gotta just watch the games. A guy who dominates the ball and gets high assists is not as valuable as a guy who shares the rock and gets fewer assists. This isn’t a Frank thing either. This started with my hate for Rondo and his “selfish assists” in my eyes. I feel the same about rebounds.

Actually, Payton’s playing predominantly with Randle and Morris. Frank is in a second unit with Knox and Portis. So when Knox and Portis are missing looks while Morris and Randle actually make some shots; that makes a difference.

That’s the only comparable too. Idk how you try to slip Morris or Randle in there as if they’re consistently finding open players but come on fam, you know you’re reaching bringing them up.

Frank’s biggest advantage is extra minutes with Mitch. And he’s used the hell out of it for sure. Mitch makes everyone better, but I always give him that credit.

Frank would get more assist playing in a lineup with RJ, Morris, Knox and Mitchell. Knox starts off cold and warms up when he gets more passes his way, otherwise, he's just a high efficiency rebounder that'll be waiting on the wing. RJ and Frank would be the main ball handlers and then I would sub in Morris for Bullock and Wooten for Knox.

Also, I don't mind us getting Drummond at the expense of finding a way of dumping Portis, Randle, Payton, Smith. If we can't get a point guard in the league, we can use Peters, Allen and a get another through the draft.

There's a possibility of getting Drummond and having enough money to get a star at max salary. RJ will be a future star and Knox and Mitchell will either be a star or great role players. A lot of the bad shooting is because we're playing logjam lineups against teams that space. Even when we have spacers on the court, we have Portis, Morris and Randle trying to flabby and sick post pre prime Melo ball at the same time and now our rookies are getting cold. Posting up players only leads to double teams and turnovers.

That has nothing to do with what I said. Nobody counts blown assists. And if you do be consistent and count it for everyone. If you're going to point out how much better someone's stat line would have been if other players made the field goals then that should apply to everyone. How many more assist would Payton have if everyone made their shots right? Or RJ? Did you count those up?

This type of thought process is idiotic. We don't deal with what if. We deal with what we're actually seeing.

And he had his chance. He started with Randlell and Morris. What's the excuse for that now? Stop making excuses for this dude already. He has shown Improvement. Just be happy with that. No need to try to manufacture some some shyt out your ass.

Here's an example of the problem for our losses with 3 vets.

Now imagine having 3 guys playing like Melo while shutting out the offense and stat padding for 2 points while not defending the 3 on the opposite side of the court.

RJ drives and establishes the extra point. Knox spaces on the perimeter for the 3. Frankie sets up pick and rolls. Mitch follows through off misses. But you have 3 bully ball vets logjamming in the post, night in and night out.

This exposes Randle because while he may occasionally get points, he has T Rex arms and can't defend on the other side. Morris is the best defender of the 3 and has a higher shooting percentage. Guys like Portis and Randle only play well when their shots are hitting from the perimeter and when Frank is playing. I guarantee you that Bullock, Knox and Morris can outperform in those roles.
