BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKLLLLLYYYYYNNNN
Knox needs the G league or a change of scenery, he looks so passive and lost. Iggy could probably come up and contribute more than Knox can currently.I just wish I could figure out where all the confidence and swagger he had when he came into summer league and the first month of last season went too. Knox might have improved marginally in some areas this year, but his passiveness is killing him right now.
It's not just Knox, it's anyone.

can't wait til rj demands a trade from this team
idk how he develops here
Lol @ rj demanding a trade lmao..rj better work on going another direction on his drives, work on his jumpshot and ball handle ,work on free throw shooting and work on being a winning player before he demands anything, before the draft he was suppose to be a polished scorer and he looks underdeveloped on that aspect so lets wait til next year because right now knicks development staff looks trash knox regressed, frank plays the same exact way as a rookie, dennis smith came here and looks like he doesnt know basketball,

Quick hitter thoughts instead of full recap today:
- Perspective is helpful. The Knicks have been shorthanded recently due to the ghost of Tyson Chandler's flu hitting half the wings. They came in on a back to back, short handed and ran out of steam in double-OT. Yes the Hawks are a bad team, but they've been half decent recently winning 5 of their last 10 including wins over the Sixers and Clippers. It's not the end of the world to lose to them under these circumstances.

- I didn't mind Frank or RJ sitting in crunch and overtime. Frank was balling out, make no mistake on that one. But he'd played a chunk of the third and then nearly the entire 4th before coming off the floor. Payton started OT like a bat out of hell with fresh legs and faded. It would have been nice for Frank to get the close out just like Payton took the baton from Frank in regulation, but the logic made sense. RJ wasn't having a good game and the spacing from Ellington/Bullock was massively helpful.

- Mitch and Frank honestly did get crunch time minutes anyway. Mitch is as disruptive a presence as you can ask for, he was great last night. Frank played deep into the fourth quarter and got defensive substitutions in OT. I'll take the baby steps here and consider it a good sign.

- Randle has been pretty good since Miller took over, full stop. Not great, still a flawed player who needs certain conditions around him to be successful...but he's been pretty good and I think he deserves a bit of slack tbh.

- Knox is still struggling but I keep seeing promising signs, especially when it comes to his defensive effort.

- Payton put up 12/9, played solid defense against a tough assignment until his legs went out...and it was a bad game relatively speaking because he's been flat out good too. His last game struggles shouldn't take away from that.

- I can't tell if I'm just picking on Bobby Portis, but it feels like I catch so many mistakes defensively while he's out there that even on a relatively good offensive night...felt like a net negative from Portis. Is there any way to look at our three point defense with Portis on and off? I feel like rotations die and players overcompensate whenever Portis' man sets the screen.

- Barrett's tough game was a lot to do with foul trouble. Smith had a bad one mainly because his defensive play faded. But both still flashed value at points at a minimum.

- The vets go in late because they're the vets. To see the poor execution in clock management while protecting a slim lead was frustrating. I do think the back to back ties in but it's easy to get pissed off when execution fails like that even though we've benched all our promising youth.

- I want to second unit with Iggy replacing Portis. Frank/Ellington(or Dot)/Knox/Iggy/Mitch...gimme that for a couple of games please.

randle being at pf truly clogs the paint
hardly anyone starts a pf like dubious for this reason
rj is also only 19 and watching all of his games he gets hacked a lot and the refs don't call anything and he is used a role player next to dubious and payton
morris being traded hasn't changed that at all
looks like rj will need to put on 15-20 lbs of muscle this off season similiar to what lonzo did
that would put him at 230-235 lbs
rj was also shooting well in his last couple of games before he went down with the ankle injury and was out for 2 weeks but it's as if Knicks fans didn't think he would be rusty at all and completely forgot that stretch of games:mjtf:
you would think they would build a roster and offense to maximize rj's strengths and minimize his weaknesses but instead they have made decisions to favor dubious handles (like trying to provide this tumbling idiot better spacing)
no sense of rhyme or reason with this fan base or FO

You keep with this dreaming , potential shyt, i am telling you what he is, offensively he has been a disappointment, when coming out he was suppose to be advanced as a player on the o side and his jumpshot is spotty at best, his handles ain't that good, and when he drives he goes one way that is what he is RIGHT NOW, he has alot of work before you can even think off getting him to be the focal point of your offense.

We can say the same think with Knox if knox put 15 to 20lbs of muscle with his athleticism he would be a monster but as we see his motor isn't there

I've seen him go right plenty of times (against PG on the Clippers, the Lakers, etc.)
Here is where I disagree with you(coming from a place of watching every full Knicks games of RJ)

Has RJ been but in a position to succeed like some of the other young players in the league?

All of your analysis is coming from RJ being placed in a poor position

1) He has an idiot like Dubious as a PF and as the 1st option w/ an offense built around his handles

2) The shyt spacing caused by Dubious being at PF combined w/ the other shytty shooters on the team
A lot of analysts/scouts were saying RJ should thrive in the NBA with more spacing. Where the spacing at?

3) RJ is used as a role player. Are you telling me the Knicks run an offense that features RJ as the main ball handler? Do they run curl screens, run a lot of picks for him, or even plays to get him open or use his ability as a cutter?
A lot of times I see RJ in the corner watching Payton or Randle dominate the ball and look him off
Do you know how many times I've seen RJ ask for the ball with his hands open, even after having say a 13 point quarter, and his teammates give him the :manny: and pass it to Dubious for an inevitable turnover?

You talk about you're not with the potential then give up on the Knicks now, hope they trade all the young players including Mitch and RJ, and enjoy watching treadmill teams of vets for the next 10 years of Dolanism:manny:

:ohhh:
It’s crazy but we’re right back into CAA clutches again.

Dolan only does stupid shyt. Nothing is ever done to win games. Like he let go of CAA and got Phil but forced him to hire Mills, now Phil and Mills are out and it’s right back to CAA
Actually, Mills was hired before Phil. Mills being a part of the organization was never something that was in his control
