I think they're retaining him for the draft, I believe he'll be gone by the end of the season.

I agree, unless he knocks the draft out the park.

I don’t think they are going to keep the majority of his staff either. When they hired Aller they mentioned that he would be cutting staff down.

Raptors GM Bobby Webster would be available in a year. If we gonna upgrade I am not against waiting for him.

Perry’s not ideal, but this draft is a shyt show to. It’s not realistic to bring in a person now and expect them to succeed.

why is it unrealistic? perry has never succeeded here himself.

i dont get why his decision making is necessary to make a lottery pick. the same decision making that were part of the porzingis trade, last offseason and the knox pick.

another basketball mind could be brought in very easily to work with rose and the scouts on the draft. there's been nothing but time for them to do that the last few months.

Agreed on Webster, I don't think it'd be bad to bring someone in now though. There's cap space, multiple picks this year and next, plus a promising young core (RJ and Mitch for sure)...What I don't want is Perry making "save my job" decisions instead of "let's keep building."

Webster is worth the wait if Perry's power is limited. I still look at the contracts Mills handed out to scare off other GM's and get Perry here; I don't want a repeat. Rose better have a tight handle on all this ish. But why have a GM anyway if you're gonna have him here as a placeholder only...especially one who reminds everyone of the awful roster constructions we've witnessed the past few years?

I don’t think another mind could be brought in to work with the scouts.... there isn’t any scouting. All there is is the data that Perry brought in, the connections to coaches that he’s been calling, and those scouts for the most part having been looking for things Perry told them to.

Also the Knicks are the only team this draft with picks in the high lottery (6) and the late first round (27) that means Perry has been directing scouting for both. It just not that easy. If anything Aller is there and Leon are there too for final decision, but in the middle of this shyt show draft. You can’t bring in a new guy and expect them to be as ready as Perry.

Even the bulls kept Paxson on salary and the only reason they let him and Forman go now was the whole team was about to revolt after they been in charge for decades.
