The Knicks drafted project players, young players that were extremely raw but had skills that could be developed into something special. The GM's just didn't put together remotely the environment for any young players to develop. Fisher, Hornacek, Fizdale and Miller were perpetually coaching for their lives with a bunch of vets playing for their contracts in the locker room. You had young guys jockeying from bad coach to bad coach, system to system and bench to bench while 1 year players like Enes Kanter played for next year's pay day or made a scene in the locker room.

This doesn't absolve the selections of Knox or Frank. But none of the young cats progressed at the NBA level; the ones fortunate enough to do G-League stints came back with improvements but that's it. If anything, most guys regressed. Not even just the DSJ's and Triers either; even some older cats like THJ and Burke showed up with spark that faded and are showing promise again elsewhere.

These were poorly constructed teams with bad coaching and terrible development. The last thing they shoulda been doing was focusing on age and upside when they weren't prepared to refine the kids' tools. Those were bad picks for sure, we still don't know if we want Frank around and his extension is coming. Knox hasn't even managed to be a rotation level player yet and he's approaching year three. But the one benefit of those selections were that these cats were super young. Frank's still younger than some projected lottery picks. Knox is even younger. The new management has brought in some straight up development gurus for the coaching staff. We were just starting to see a few only positive signs of development from Mitch, RJ and Frank late. I think structure was taking hold. I have hopes Thibs, Payne and Bryant can get better results.

Don't get me wrong though, the clock is ticking because of their contracts. With the shortened season, Frank and Knox have both got serious uphill battles. I like Frank's chances based on the fact that he's got some NBA value skills already. Knox really looked lost but he's got some more time before a solid decision has to be made. It's not ideal but I'd like to see what the post Mills era looks like. These cats are still young and this team won't be ready to compete without a ton of good breaks for at least another season anyway.

U just saying anything at this point.

Frank should be much better than Dort.

An 8th pick that we've wasted so much time and money on (4 years, $17M) who we believed could become our franchise PG should not be producing to the rate he's producing at. But y'all don't give a fukk apparently disingenous nikkas. :mjlol:
Na you being disingenuous and always arguing in bad faith when it comes to frank. He’s had three head coaches since coming into the nba. That’s fukking unacceptable. How do you expect a player to grow when he’s going into a new system from year to year and has no stable mentors.

you think jaylen brown and Jason Tatum are as good as they are now if they get drafted by the knicks and their sorry ass turnstile coaching staff?:what:

bet the Celtics or raptors pick up frank and turn him into a effective player.

I'm giving Frank one more year. He's like the quiet kid in class that everyone likes so he gets away with a lot. I want our young guys to have a chance and not the team be a reclamation project for players we didn't draft. That means DSJ gets DNP coaches decision because Frank is getting the majority of the bench minutes for PG.

All of our young guys need to be starting or be first off the bench. Mitch needs to start, Knox needs minutes and be the first Forward off the bench. RJ should have the ball in his hands more. I'm giving them two weeks after the season start, and if I don't see that then season is a wash and I will lose interest. It will be the same shyt as years past.

Maybe we're the crazy ones expecting a different outcome from a team that does the same shyt to us year after year. I still have hope because I'm a delusional Knicks fan and I think we have a chance to turn it around with every coaching change.

Yeah guys like Tatum are super skilled. He was polished and poised.

It’s not the coaching it’s Frank himself.

Get an explosive point guard pair em with frank. Move RJ to the 3. Pick up gallo or a 4 that shoots at a high clip. Throw randle to the bushes and start Mitch.
I'd never start Frank. Bad move. Keep RJ at the 2 and bring Frank off the bench as a back up point guard kinda like a Tyrone Lue on defense in the Lakers day or Pat Beverley.

I'd pull Iggy outta the D league's and give him that 3 position if anything then play Gallo at the 4. Good shooters, equal defense, great spacing. Frank could be a back up defender for the second unit and easily hide the weakness of Randles chucking ass at the backup center.

It's kinda a toss up between Knox and Iggy starting but that little 3/4 combo rotation between Iggy, Knox, Gallo playing with Mitch starting will make that spacing look beautiful and give Mitch some nice lobs. RJ is also a great passer. If you get a high pace PG like Lewis in that starting lineup it will be nice and being that he's a rookie, you can split those minutes with Frank.

Also, I'd still try to get FVV, highly impossible or Chris Paul. Even if he gets injured due to the Knicks curse, he'd be a great leader for those young guys on the bench. If you get him to shadow one of these guys from the draft under Rose, you're good. Now Rose and CP3 can shop for some of these upcoming draft picks.

He's a bad player with one elite skill.

He's a career 6/2/3 guy on 36/31/78 splits that is not a good player.

He's a link player, someone who can do the little things between other good players. I'm not saying he's a great player, but the fact he's already a good defender is huge since he's like 6-6. If you merely see him improve from three, he can be a good player. Look at this way: if he shot 35% from 3 and added elite defense: how many players truly fit that bill? The fact he's that close, I get why people don't want to give up on him. I hope Thibs can get it out of him.

This is his last year to prove he's decent. There's no excuses after that.

:mjlol: at Tatum not being good on the Knicks as if he’s anywhere near comparable to that scrub Ntilikina as a hooper

Jaylen Brown literally linked with T-Mac on his own accord in the offseason and stole his pump fake relocation and post footwork literally identical

Some players have that dog in them to improve and be factors in this league and some don’t.

I don't think any rookie would be as good on the Knicks as they would on another team.

Tatum would've been average or at least RJ status and Jaylen, na...
